Johnny Depp & Angelina Jolie Wear Belstaff in 'The Tourist'

Johnny Depp & Angelina Jolie Wear Belstaff in 'The Tourist'
Johnny Depp and Angelina Jolie both sport items from luxe British outerwear company Belstaff in their stylish new movie The Tourist. Jolie wears a waterproof parka while Depp sports a military-style overcoat and leather briefcase. In addition, during filming Depp was spotted wearing a leather blouson jacket by Belstaff that was in fact made for his 2009 movie Public Enemies (see the gallery). While Depp's coat is unfortunately not available to the general public, his briefcase and Jolie's jacket will be this spring.

The Tourist Parka, which Jolie wears in the movie's boating scenes (above), is made of waterproof, breathable self-shining fabric and with an adjustable drawcord and large, snug hood. It's priced at $795. The Office Bag, Depp's vintage style leather briefcase, is priced at $775. Belstaff was a favorite of Steve McQueen and has also outfitted Brad Pitt in Inglorious Basterds, Tom Cruise in Mission Impossible and War of the Worlds, Tom Hanks in The Da Vinci Code, Kevin Spacey in Superman Returns and George Clooney in Leatherheads.

Brad Pitt Wears Burberry to 'The Tourist' Premiere

When you've got Angelina Jolie on your arm in a thigh-and-cleavage bearing cream-colored cashmere confection, the best thing for a man to do is provide the perfectly elegant backdrop. Brad Pitt pulled that off with flair to spare at the premiere of Jolie's new movie The Tourist in New York the other night. The dashing actor's all-black outfit was topped with a ruggedly stylish military-inspired double breasted wool greatcoat with a capacious shearling collar from Burberry's acclaimed Autumn / Winter 2010 collection (one of their cool leather-trimmed bags appeared in our recent Fall Style feature). The actor accessorized the seriously warm coat, which has a quilted lining and half belt, with a casually tied black scarf. Add Angelina and you've got the perfect ensemble, not to mention the world's most stylish couple.

Thakoon Draped Collar Coat

The classic beige trench coat is completely revamped with the magical touch of fashion design star Thakoon. His Draped Collar Coat ($1090) takes the essence of a traditional trench coat and infuses it with a modern and unique twist that is very appealing.

Made from a mix of virgin wool, mohair, alpaca and a hint of nylon, the Draped Collar Coat boasts a dramatic and oversized relaxed collar (which exposes reversed twill), a curved hem that drops in the back, and crochet lace trim at the collar, opening, sleeves, hem and along the belt.

Contrasting colors of grey and white make for a stand out of a coat that still exudes a timeless elegance. I especially liked the hints of reverse twill scattered throughout the coat.

While you won't be able to wear Thakoon's coat on rainy days like the typical trench coat, it will provide some warmth and serve well as a chic and effortless accent to your outfit.

Mackage Opens Second Pop-Up Boutique in NYC
Mackage is so pleased with sales in its first NYC pop-up boutique, in the Meatpacking District, that it has opened a second, this time in SoHo. Open through December, the store will carry the Canadian company's Fall/Winter '09 collection for men and women including butter-soft leather bombers, shearling styles, and its ever-popular Puffy down-filled winter coats. The line is popular with such celebrities as Hilary Duff, Jessica Biel, Elizabeth Hurley, Eva Mendes, Kristen Bell, Will.I.Am. and John Legend, to name a few. And a non-celebrity -- me. The coats are beautiful, practical, and better-priced than I expected for such style and quality. The SoHo store's details can be found in the photo above.

Should Dogs Wear Fur?

There just seems to be something wrong about a fur coat for a dog, an animal that nature has already provided with a coat of its own. But for small dog without a thick winter coat of its own there is the chinchilla fur coat from Tails and Company. There are plenty of fake fur dog coats on the market but this coat is real chinchilla with a price tag that might be higher than what it cost to buy your purebred pup, $1,700. As the description on the website says, "or the person who has it all, we are sure that you don't have this." But is there something fundamentally hypocritical about draping an animal in another animal?

3.1 Phillip Lim Motorcycle Sweater Jacket

Whether worn by a man or woman, motorcycle jackets just ooze with a coolness and sexiness that is unmatchable. Besides a men's button-down shirt, I can't think of any other item that could be worn by both genders and still look so sexy. And although the season may have passed to wear this Motorcycle Sweater Jacket by 3.1 Phillip Lim, if there is at least one extra cool evening, I am wearing this jacket. Made of 100% cashmere, Lim's Sweater Jacket can easily be paired with a Spring dress, keeping you warm and cozy, all the while looking very chic. It features golden zippers & buttons, plenty of front pockets, and buttoned shoulder epaulets for a cutting edge yet sophisticated look. Price $585.

Dior Dahlia Coat

Described as "voluminous with a trapeze-like shape", the Dior Dahlia Coat is handsomely decorated with a black velvet floral motif, but I can't help thinking that the shape and width is not as flattering to the overall design as it could be. While the floral motif instantly captures your attention, its fullness is lackluster. Perhaps a pair of stilettos could do the trick? Made of wool with a silk lining, it features a hidden snap placket, side pockets and wide three-quarter sleeves - which by the way with look super sexy and sophisticated with a pair of brightly colored opera-length leather gloves. Price: $2800

Joe's Jean Heavy Twill Jacket

A bit on the rugged side with a slight military jacket feel, Joe's Jeans Twill Jacket might just become your everyday, but fashionable, casual winter coat, that will make you want to strut your stuff rather shoveling snow. While the shell is made from cotton, the interior is completely lined in synthetic shearling to provide comfort and warmth for those cold days. It features an exterior front breast pocket, two side pockets and a shearling lined collar that buttons up to keep your neck warm. Every coat should have this option. You could wrap a scarf around you for added protection and you don't have to worry about the cold air coming through. Warm, cozy and chic! Seen here in olive, it is also available in natural and black. Price: $216.

Ona Coat Rack

The Ona Coat Rack manages to look just as much like a piece of artwork even more than it resembles a convenient storage system. The linear rack is made of a ripple of molded wood, with projections at regular intervals to allow for the hanging of coats, bags, umbrellas or anything else that needs to be shed by the door. From Mobles 114 in Barcelona, the rack was originally introduced in 1992, designed by Montse Padros and Carlos Riart, and has been a favorite ever since. Price: $208.

Santacroce Washed Leather Bomber Jacket

Just like a suitcase, a black winter coat can get pretty boring pretty fast. The Santacroce Leather Bomber Jacket may be on the bright side, but the butterscotch tone will add spice and color to those dark and long winter days. You could virtually wear all black and still look as if you put thought to your outfit by wearing this jacket. The buttons are crystals to add some pizzazz and extra charm. It features three front pockets and if you didn't want to carry around a bag, there are additional pockets on either sleeve. Sizing Guide: Small = Size 2-4 Medium = Size 4-6. Always be sure to protect your leathers before use to lengthen the life. Price: $1,825.

Anthropologie Carriage Coat

When the days are short and the nights are long, it's hard not to want to bundle yourself into the warmest coat you can find and, even if you don't necessarily approve of wearing fur, you have to admit that the fur-wearers always look toasty. Anthropologie's Carriage Coat has the look of fur, but is synthetic. 'Tis the season to save some animals and still look stylish, right? Fortunately, the only thing that is noticeably unrealistic about this coat is that it lacks the faint animal smell of real fur. It feels wonderfully warm when draped around your shoulders and has a very flattering cut to it. Price: $218.

Patch and Scott Dog Coats

As the weather gets colder, short-haired and smaller dogs often need an extra layer of protection if they're going to be outside for an extended period of time. Patch and Scott's Dog Coats are some of the most stylish we have seen. They are made out of water-repellent Italian canvas and trimmed with soft, washable leather at the neck and waistband. For warmth, the lining is lambswool. The coats are well-shaped and, unlike some of the boxy coats from other manufacturers, they have a sleek and flattering outline. The coats come in two sizes and with either chocolate or tan leather accents. Price: £149.

Whipcord Wool Coat

The Whipcord Wool Coat from Marc by Marc Jacobs is a great mid-weight coat for guys this season. It is 100% wool and has an urban/military feel to it, due to clean lines and a slim fit, which are accented with four button-flap pockets and buttoned epaulettes. Inside, the jacket is partially lined in cotton and has two additional flat pockets. The only potential drawback is that it seems to look better as part of a layered look, as opposed to on its own. Price: $498.

Any if anyone spots a women's version of this coat, let me know!
