Android 2.3 Gingerbread has been leaked to another HTC smartphone, this time around it's the HTC EVO Shift 4G. This leaked ROM could be an internal build for testing and not the "final" Gingerbread build, but users aren't reporting any substantial problems with it. Taking it a step further, XDA-Developers have pieced the ROM together with BusyBox and made it flashable, which makes applying the custom-version of this ROM very easy for Rooted users. Yesterday, we got tipped-off that Verizon would start sales of the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play in the US on May 26. Today, the carrier has issued a statement confirming that leak, as well as announcing that pre-orders for the gaming-centric Android will start on May 19. Less than a week after we saw it unexpectedly pop up in the FCC database, the MeeGo-powered Nokia N9 (N950?) has appeared in a professional-looking teaser commercial (clip embedded below), further suggesting that not only is this handset still destined for release, but that a launch may actually be imminent.
