The Territory is a strong and confident society; our cultural and linguistic diversity is a key asset in achieving this. The Territory government affirms its commitment to multiculturalism – a multicultural society that values diversity and promotes cohesion, harmony and the sharing of one another’s cultures.
The rich and vibrant culture of the Territory is unique, and one we are rightly proud of; it is a blend of the oldest living culture on earth with ethnic and migrant cultures from all around the world.
Through the Office of Multicultural Affairs the Territory government provides over $2M support annually to over 50 multicultural groups.
