The Latest News and Interviews From The World Of King Crimson and Guitar Craft!

Krimson News is Dead… Long Live Krimson News!

Well, sort of.  We’ve moved operations in an effort to make more sense in this changing landscape of artists and as such you can find us now doing similar work over at Nice Grooves (http://www.nicegrooves.com)!

We have a podcast back up and running with our first interview just released and more planned.  I’m excited about where we go from here, and wanted to thank all of our readers here at KN for the last 11+ years of viewership/listenership in our variety of mediums we’ve presented over the years whether it’s been the simple blog, road photos, radio stream, diaries, or podcast, amongst, I’m sure, something other items I’m missing.  It’s been a lot of hard work however, the amount of people who’ve visited definitely made it worthwhile!

Again, I’d like to welcome everyone to our new home.  Our focus is similar but different, but I suspect the vast majority of you will enjoy it!

And… We’re Back!

Sorry for the delays, but after repeated delays and repeated interruptions, here we are, back again!

Over the next few days we’ll be slowly bringing things back online as we test and ensure stability here at our new home.

Keep your eyes peeled, the Blogs will be coming soon, but, as you might expect, it’s complicated… *sigh*

Thank you all for sticking with us through this trying time.

While you are here, don’t forget that Adrian Belew is currently touring the east coast of the US.  Make sure you check out http://www.adrianbelew.net for full details!  I saw the show a few days ago here in Atlanta and was blown away.  They have really matured over the last year and one senses that things will continue this trend.

Adrian Belew Interview Online!

Our friends at Crawdaddy! magazine let us know they have part one of their interview with Adrian Belew now online!

This part of the interview goes over Adrian’s roots and performance history and does reflect a willingness to continue some of his other group efforts, such as the Bears and that other small band we love, King Crimson.

Thanks to Michael for giving us the skinny on the interview!

A Big Ball of Move

We’ve been told that KN needs a new home due to technical issues beyond our control by our hosting provider.  This is due to some resource utilization they have unfortunately not been able to track down.

Long story short, expect some oddities as the move begins, but I’d say we should be moved within the next few weeks.

Also, I’d like to apologise for my lack of posts, but trust me, something big and amazing is coming down the pipes.  When we started we had a team of 4-6 people assisting in writing posts.  At this point nobody is actively writing.

To that end, please send me a note if you feel the urge to volunteer!  I’d love to hear from you.

More soon-

Bill Bruford Leaves Public Performance

Legendary, and I mean LEGENDARY, (but you already knew this), drummer with an astonishing pedigree of bands over the last 41 years, including of course, King Crimson, Yes, and Genesis, amongst some 19 other bands and artists plus or minus a few, Bill Bruford doesn’t have anything to prove to this writer, he’s certainly one of the greatest.

And he knows he has nothing to prove, at least performance wise, which is one of the reasons reflected for his retirement from public performance, in an article over at AllAboutJazz where John Kelman interviewed Bruford.  The indication is that he will do public speaking engagements, and thankfully he will continue writing and recording music, as well as Summerfold and Winterfold records.

In the near future Bill will be doing some public speaking, (as previously mentioned), where he will be promoting his new book, Bill Bruford: The Autobiography, which is coming out in March.

Krimson News congratulates Bill Bruford on his retirement and we wish him all the best!

For the full deal, check out the article over at All About Jazz!

Happy 40th Birthday King Crimson!

Today, 40 years ago, King Crimson was born.  Marking 40 years since their initial rehearsal as King Crimson, with Robert Fripp, Greg Lake, Michael Giles and Ian McDonald as personnel.

Why not celebrate by listening to your favorite KC album… and feel free to post your selection by making a comment below.  Long live the King!

Adrian Belew Crowdsurfs!

Adrian Belew, Eric Slick, and Julie Slick are smack in the middle of a whirlwind tour of Australia right now in the formation of “The Adrian Belew Power Trio”, and I just noted a review link posted by Owen over at Planet Crimson.

The review was very generous and sports some great photos of Adrian and Co, including Adrian crowdsurfing!

If you are in Australia and haven’t gotten a chance to check em out, you still have a chance through the 11th, as they wrap up the last few dates in New South Wales!  Tourdates can be found at Adrian’s Official Site.

Los Gauchos Alemanes Store!

Just received an email from our good friends at the Los Gauchos Alemanes which gives the good word on several updates to their site, not the least of which is an updated store which now includes their latest album, Commendatore, and allows for MP3 downloads and samples.

LGA is a fantastic group which has featured several heavies from the world of Guitar Craft and as such has worked along side such groups as the Berlin Guitar Ensemble and The League of Crafty Guitarists.

It goes without saying that a visit to their website certainly should be on the menu for any of our readers out there, so check it out HERE!

California Guitar Trio Touring!

Bert Lams and Tom Griesgraber are just beginning a duet tour encompassing the states of Florida, (through November), and California, (through December), and let me tell you, that’ll be fun, but once you’ve gotten off that musical high, here’s another one to loft you back up there… the CGT will be making their rounds beginning in February of 2009!

Make sure to check out the CGT website for more tourdate information HERE, and be sure to check out the CGT on TV, if you are in the Philadelphia area coming up soon on Wednesday, November 19th at 8PM.  (That’s just two days from now!)
