The free private bore water testing is for landholders who may be unsure about the water quality of their bore following reports of moderate arsenic concentrations in some private bores in the Litchfield and Coomalie Shires. Read more...
Territorians use approximately 40 million bags each year. This ban will benefit the environment.
From 1 September 2011 Territory retailers can no longer supply lightweight, “checkout” style plastic bags, including degradable bags.
So start the change now. There are a range of environmentally friendly bags as alternatives, such as green bags, biodegradable bags, paper bags and heavier boutique bags.
