Open for public comment.
Distinctive seedpods of prickly acacia
A targeted approach to eradication of prickly acacia in the Northern Territory is considered necessary to avoid significant ecological and economic impacts in the future. The draft plan outlines the management requirements and methods considered necessary to achieve eradication.
Input from the public, and particularly land managers, is necessary to ensure that the best approach is being taken with regards to long term management outcomes. Once endorsed, the management requirements described in the plan will be enforceable under the Weeds Management Act .
The draft plan will be on public exhibition until Friday 9 September 2011. Comments received prior to this date will be taken into consideration when developing the final Weed Management Plan, which will then be sent to the Minister for Natural Resources, Environment and Heritage for approval.
