David Cameron, the new boy in Europe, wins brownie points from Angela Merkel

A quick note from David Cameron's first EU summit here in Brussels. The new boy is showing he knows how to schmooze. Apparently at his pre-summit chat with Angela Merkel, the PM won major brownie points by asking the German chancellor for her tips on how to handle EU meetings… I know this was just a bit of diplomatic flattery, but I wonder if his Tory colleagues will relish the prospect of their leader taking advice from Frau Merkel…?
