Quentin Davies joins Labour's class war

Full coverage of UK Politics
Just heard: Quentin Davies, the millionaire former merchant banker and Tory MP turned Labour stalwart, has been out and about in Crewe, joining in the class war for his adopted party.

Mr Davies is a former diplomat and Lloyd's name. He went to Cambridge.  His Who's Who entry notes that he is a member of the Brook's, the Beefsteak and the Travellers.  Presumably his doorstep schtick is: "Hello, awfully sorry to trouble your madam, but I just have to warn you about those terrible upper-class Conservative fellows who are after your vote.  They can't be trusted, don'tcha know?  Rum fellows all of them, and us working class folk have to stick together if we're to give them the jolly good thrashing they deserve, what what?"
