Full coverage of UK Politics
Big test for PR Week's recent claim to the new Court Circular of government royalty. On Sunday, Simon Walters of the Mail on Sunday reported that Gordon Brown is talking to Mark Penn about some polling work.

Mark Penn was forced to resign as Hillary Clinton's chief strategist

On the day, the story was denied by No 10 sources as simply "wrong." Now PR Week is reporting something very similar, saying that Mr Penn recently met Stephen Carter to, er, talk about some polling work.

Who's right? Those "No 10 sources" or PR Week? Time will tell, but for government-watchers, it's an interesting litmus test of who's calling the shots in the fuhrerbunker.
