George Osborne: unassailable?

Hmm.  George Osborne might not see the funny side of David Cameron's quick tongue.  In bonny Scotland today, Mr Cameron was asked if, were it to be shown that his friend has been telling porkies about his holiday adventures, he would sack his shadow chancellor.   Mr Cameron's reply:  "If my mother had wheels she'd be a bicycle."

David Cameron's cryptic statement is no laughing matter

Think about that one for a moment.  It's not exactly a declaration that Mr Osborne is completely safe, is it?  With the Sunday papers currently throwing everything they have at the story and Rothschild threats still hanging in the air, Mr Osborne is in for a nervous few days.
