Alistair Darling: the recession ends in 219 days

Seven months and six days.  That's how long until the recession ends.   At least if you believe Alistair Darling and the Treasury.

"Output will continue to fall in the UK, for the first two quarters of next year," he said today.  "But then, because of decisions taken in this Pre-Budget Report, I expect it to start to recover."

I make it 219 days until the start of the third quarter of 2009. Anyone out there willing to hold their breath?
