Chunsoft announces first PlayStation Vita titles
Classic, successor coming to Vita
by [@salromano] at 08:59 PM EST, August 23, 2011 .

Chunsoft announced its support for PlayStation Vita in this week’s issue of Famitsu. The Shinjuku-based developer is creating two titles for the handheld.

The first is a remake of a classic Chunsoft adventure game. Shin Kamaitachi no Yoru: Jyuichi-nin-me no Suspect is coming to both PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita.

The original game, Kamaitachi no Yoru, released on Super Nintendo in 1994. Starring characters Toru and his girlfriend Mari, players must solve a murder mystery, reading text and selecting paths.

For the PS3/PSV release, Chunsoft will update the game to 3D, while still keeping its unique visual style, which saw its characters as blue silhouettes. A multiplayer mode, titled “Minna de Kamaitachi,” will allow up to 100 players compete to be the fastest at solving a single crime. It will support cross-platform play between PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita.

The Vita version includes touch panel and gyro sensor support, as well as an additional, one-system two-player mode, which determines the compatibility of two people based off their inputs on the handheld’s front and rear touch panels.

Two scans of Shin Kamaitachi no Yoru have surfaced:

Chunsoft’s second title is coming to both PlayStation Vita and 3DS. A spiritual successor to the DS adventure game 999: Nine Hours, Nine Persona, Nine Doors, the new Gyokugen Dasshutsu Adv: Zennin Shiboudes is being developed by the same staff, all with similar roles in development.

Details on Gyokugen Dasshutsu Adv have not yet leaked.
