As a self-proclaimed expert at making the best playlists for any occasion, I feel these are the best dance songs to play at the prom this year. I went to four proms and countless other dances during my high school career, and I can't even express how important the right music is for the success of your prom. Especially if it's your senior prom, you want everyone to have one final blast together, and it won't be fun if the music is bland. These songs will definitely keep everyone on their feet. Don't just sit there get up and dance!
1. Just Dance - Lady Gaga and Colby O'Donnis
Even if you don't know any of the words besides Just dance, gonna be okay, da da doo-doo-mmm, just dance', you can still groove to this nightclub anthem of 2009. Channel your inner Lady Gaga...so fab!
2. Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It) - Beyonce
A surefire way to get all the single (and taken) ladies on the dance floor. Shake your booty and wave your hand, girl!
3. I Kissed a Girl - Katy Perry
Lyrics may be a bit questionable to some, but they sure are catchy. This song just lends itself to dancing.
4. Don't Stop the Music - Rihanna
Sure, it was last year's top dance song, but with such an infectious beat this song will never go out of style.
5. When I Grow Up - Pussy Cat Dolls
A song to get the girls dreaming about what they wish for when they grow up. Helps that this song has a great beat, too. 'Be careful what you wish for 'cause you just might get it...'
6. Let it Rock - Kevin Rudolf ft. Lil' Wayne
Go ahead and rock out to this popular song of 2009. Lil' Wayne is featured in this song, a favorite of both guys and girls alike.
7. SexyBack - Justin Timberlake
Classic Justin Timberlake. Probably his best dance tune to date. It's time we all brought a little sexy back.
8. Cupid Shuffle - Cupid
A classic dance floor anthem. Get all of your friends together and do the cupid shuffle' one last time.
9. Disturbia - Rihanna
You can't help but dance and sing along with Rihanna as she sings Disturbia, am I scaring you tonight? Disturbia, ain't used to what you like. Disturbia, disturbia.'
10. Low - Flo Rida
The lyrics are self explanatory:
Apple bottom jeans (jeans)
Boots with the fur (with the fur)
The whole club was looking at her
She hit the floor (she hit the floor)
Next thing you know
Shawty got low, low, low, low, low, low, low, low
So have a great time at this year's prom. Make it a memory you will always cherish.
