Though you may not see it at first, the Arctic is overflowing with life, including animals, plants and people. Unfortunately, the Arctic ecosystem is one of the most threatened places in the world. Though it is far from where many of us live, the Arctic is still important to all of our lives, and the survival of Earth as we know it. Adopt-A-Pond
The Adopt-A-Pond Wetland Conservation Programme provides educators, students, community groups and members of the public with information resources and educational opportunities to conserve, nurture and protect wetlands and wetland wildlife.
Great Lakes /Aqua Links
The Toronto Zoo has joined a coalition of over 45 zoos and aquariums and various other government and non-government organizations in both Canada and the United States to help conserve the Great Lakes.

PhoneApes
The Toronto Zoo provides 100% landfill free cell phone recycling services to individual schools, corporate environments and many other partners across Ontario.

Ontario Road Ecology Group
Road Ecology is the study of the interactions between road systems and the surrounding natural environment.

Eco-executives
ECOexecutives is a new program championed by Toronto Zoo that consists of a series of 1 day sustainability workshops for executives of small-to-midsized businesses.

Turtle Island Conservation
Toronto Zoo’s Turtle Island Conservation programme partners with First Nations communities to bring together keepers of Traditional Knowledge (TK), Elders and First Nations community members to establish community needs in conservation with our partners, promote the value of TK and awareness of traditional Aboriginal knowledge with non-Aboriginals.

Arctic Ambassador
As an Arctic Ambassador Centre, the Toronto Zoo is fortunate to have the opportunity to send staff/volunteers to participate in Polar Bear International's Leadership Camps in Churchill, Manitoba. Black-footed ferret and Vancouver Island Marmot Educational Outreach Program
Toronto Zoo runs an outreach campaign for its captive breeding and release programs for mammals.

Endangered Species Reserve Fund
This fundraising program was established for the purpose of funding research and education initiatives that aid in the conservation of endangered species.

COTERC
The Canadian Organization for Tropical Education and Rainforest Conservation is working on a project with Toronto Zoo.
