Steve Ahlgrim

Hailing from Michigan City, Indiana, Stephen Charles Ahlgrim received his BA from Indiana State University in Industrial Arts. He taught high school auto shop and electronics in Indiana for three years before moving to Atlanta, Georgia. There, he worked for FAF Motorcars, Atlanta's then Ferrari dealer. Starting as lot boy, Steve eventually worked his way up to become General Manager and Vice President.

Steve’s been a car guy all his life; his father had him in a Quarter Midget at age 10. By 14, he was totally consumed by the perfume of gasoline. His first car was a metallic burgundy 1964 Nova SS convertible, followed by a 67 Mustang fastback, a Porsche 914 and then a Lotus Europa. In his adult years, Steve has been a self-proclaimed “one-trick pony,” coveting the Ferrari and Alfa marques (except for a brief affair with a BMW M5 that still lingers as a pleasant memory).

Steve now serves as General Manager of the T. Rutlands and Maranello Auto Parts Companies, Ferrari parts specialists in Tucker, GA.

Steve has participated in numerous Ferrari Club track events, and has vintage raced an Austin Healey 3000. He’s been involved in Concours judging for more than 20 years, still likes to buy and sell a few cars, and takes pride in doing his own repairs. The Ahlgrim’s are a Ferrari family. Chris, Steve’s “first and only wife,” is the Membership Services and Advertising Director for the Ferrari Club of America (call the FCA's 800 number, and it rings in the spare bedroom). Steve serves as Regalia Chairman and Membership Co-Chairman for the Club. The Ahlgrim’s 16-year-old son can be found most evenings on Alfa chat (Alfa Kid GTV6) or Ferrari chat (Ferrari Kid 308)and just got his first car, an Alfa GTV6.

Steve appreciates the many friends he’s made through the hobby for “making my job one I wouldn't trade with anyone.”

Jeff Brinkley

Jeff Brinkley, SCM Account Executive, has been surrounded by cars all his life in both work and hobby form. To this day, some of Jeff’s fondest memories are working in his parent’s service station back in high school, working on customer’s cars, his own cars, and his Dad’s hot rod. The service station was also where Jeff learned his customer service and sales skills at an early age. Over the years those sales skills have evolved and his involvement in the automotive industry has gone from enthusiast, business owner, and photographer, to working at SCM as the Account Executive. Jeff will be in the SCM booth at many events, stop by and say “Hi” he would love to meet you.

Ryan Brinkley
SCM Operations and Sales Manger Ryan Brinkley landed his first car job at 6 years of age — as “Chief Headlight Washer” at the service station owned by his family. He later worked as manager at a high-end restoration shop in Portland and, much later, at a commodities trading company. Somewhere in between, he found himself writing about and photographing cars. When he can pry himself from Ops duties, Brinkley still relishes getting behind the lens and discovering new ways to look at cars.

B.Mitchell Carlson
B. MITCHELL CARLSON grew up in rural Minnesota, where he developed an early interest in tractors, trucks, and muscle cars. He took to “junkyarding” while stationed at Minot AFB, and a three-year stint in W. Germany tickled his fancy for German cars. Carlson shuns what he calls “single-marque tunnel vision” and takes great pride in his “vehicular diversity,” which basically means Corvairs, Packard Eights, BMW 2800s, and a Whizzer motorbike. He attends about two dozen auctions a year and has contributed his colorful commentary Sports Car Market since 1998.
He wrote his first auction report for Old Cars Weekly in 1990. His work appears regularly in Kelley Blue Book, and also in a handful of marque-specific publications.
