Meryl Streep's Margaret Thatcher role praised
Michael Portillo, who was a minister under Margaret Thatcher and also briefed her before press conferences, has praised Meryl Streep's performance in The Iron Lady.
He told BBC News: "It's the most amazing, magnificent performance by Meryl Streep. You cannot fault her in any way."
The film follows Baroness Thatcher from her early years, covers her political downfall in 1990 and also portrays her struggling with advanced dementia.
