Popular developer Mateusz Skutnik wishes us all a Happy New Year with another entry in his "Where Is..." series of New Year's games! In this installment, players help a gnomish-looking Santa find the infant personification of the new year. The adventure-platforming gameplay is fun, if not particularly difficult; and the quirky character design, watercolor background art, and atmospheric music and sound are all quite engaging.
This sequel to Lucas Paakh's William and Sly is a vast, richly layered feast for the eyes. While gameplay remains much the same, there are also marked changes (improvements as far as most players will be concerned): no more darklings or boss battles yet plenty of exploration, item gathering, and questing. Gaining helpful abilities involves your platforming and puzzle-solving skills to add just the right amount of gameplay into what is a sumptuous work of interactive art.
In this short yet beautifully artistic puzzle platform adventure decisions become turning points after two basic choices: evolve or destroy? Guide Cadence, the title character, through a series of decisions, each determining how the story continues. Several puzzles are based on those choices and there are two endings to choose from as well. Love's Cadence is as much a thought-provoking poem as a game and should be appreciated for how its graphics, narrative elements and game play coalesce into a melodious composition.
"Winners Use Government Grants!" says the opening screen of this edutainment point-and-click adventure game. Well, we should be happy that Digiwoog and BoMToons were the winners picked by the US Department of Justice to help kids learn about mobile devices, since they've come up with something really cool. An unidentified flying object has crashed on Woogi World, and Dr. Wiggenstein knows that only Woog of action Jett Woogman has the smarts and skills to investigate. He gives Jett a brand-spanking new DigiWoog mobile device, chock full of helpful apps. And so Jett sets out to solve the mysterious mystery of the mysterious UFO... and maybe learn a little about mobile phone safety!
A sniping adventure game with an atmosphere as thick as blood. Santa Lina is an old-fashioned kind of town: big, dark, ugly, and corrupt to its core. One of the small few willing, or even able, to take a stand and protect the helpless is Anaksha, a vigilante sniper dubbed "The Virgo Killer" by the press. A successful businesswoman, the murder of her best friend snapped something in her mind, and so Anaksha took to the streets, a lone huntress with a rifle, dedicated to the destruction of evil, no matter what the cost, ever-pursued by both the police and the criminal elites.
Pirouette, a piece of interactive art by Hayden Scott-Baron and increpare, is an infuriating work. Gameplay, which consists of linearly walking and talking to people, leans away from the "interactive", which might lead to the perennial discussion as to whether it qualifies as a game at all. The plot, depicting someone confronting those they loved and those they hurt, is vague and, with its frank talk of sex and toxic relationships, deliberately provocative. And yet... there is beauty to be found here. Pirouette will divide opinion. However, whether your opinion is positive or negative, it will be strongly so, and that can't be a bad thing.
Mike Morin, the creator of the popular Alice is Dead series, returns to the point-and-click adventure scene with this noir-esque mystery game about a private eye who receives a letter from a woman in his past. Seeking her out at a hotel, he finds he may have stumbled into a very strange secret in this beautiful, moody little tale.
Life's not easy for the fearsome pirate mercenary antihero Captain Zaron, star of Studio Meristem's adventure game Captain Zaron and the Trials of Doom. His sister Elsa is to be sacrificed at the stroke of midnight as part of a doomsday prophecy that will wipe out the kingdom, and he'll be damned if he's going to let that happen unchallenged. Don't let the cheap graphics fool you, Captain Zaron is a game with meat. It's an compelling adventure game with logical puzzles and the perfect level of challenge.
Aboard a suspicious hot air balloon, our titular thieving hero has no choice but to press onward and craft the most dubious robot you've ever seen in order to find his way out in the fourth installment of Pastel Games' popular point-and-click escape adventure series.

And so, you're off to seek glory, gold and grog! Mostly grog!
In this turn-based, RPG adventure you play a young person who has gone into a vast and dangerous forest alone despite the warnings of your family, and now find yourself a target for the demons lurking within. Demons here aren't found with sword or magic, but instead with Passion, Logics, and Ethics, which are played against one another in combat in a sort of rock-paper-scissors fashion; Passion defies Logic, Logic challenges Ethics, and Ethics sway Passion. Figure out what your opponent is using against you in order to defeat them, and take a breath when you need to so you don't lose your Composure or you'll be defeated. Be warned; there's no save feature, so you have to complete the whole thing in one sitting.
You may have escaped Aurora before, but in Aurora 2, it's time for you to go after her in another point and click horror/Western from Pastel Games. Middle games in a series are tough to pull off, but this one lays the groundwork for what could be a seriously cool conclusion.

Scuba is a 2D, side-scrolling game of exploration, diving, mining, and crafting in the tradition of Minecraft and Terraria. Control your diver-character as you collect 10 types of resources above ground and underwater. Combine items in your inventory to craft parts that will eventually help you make an engine to get home. Scuba's random world generation gives you a different game environment each time you play.
Taking its high production values and evident love for the medium toward a more comic, Monkey Island-esque direction with its old-school style point-and-click adventure game, Nick Toldy and the Legend of Dragon Peninsula, Red Herring Labs gives those who yearn for the glory days of Sierra Entertainment a meaty afternoon's entertainment, and probably win some new fans to the genre as well.

It'll only take you about five minutes to play, but the heebie-jeebies may stay with you a bit longer than that.

But that's all about to change in this clever puzzle platformer; when your ship crashes on Earth and parts go missing, you'll need to hijack the sight of various characters in order to manipulate your surroundings and ultimately find your way back home. Repetition mars the execution, but Proxy By Sight is still a neat concept that deserves a look.

Highly recommended to all lovers of classic adventure games or fantasy worlds in general.
Playing this strange little... sneaky... adventure... avoidance... ish... type game kind of reminds me of playing early Resident Evil games way back on the PSOne, in that the camera hates you and wants you to die. Navigate yourself through a tricky environment where your only point of view comes from the security cameras that track your every move and delight in your disorientation. If you think walking a straight line along a wooden plank is tough, wait til you get to the room with the swingy camera and disappearing floor. I dunno about you dudes, but if this is the sort of thing thieves put up with, you can count me out. Guess I'm not cut out for intruded-ing.

About as epic as any game about snails can be, Snailiad will take hours from you, and you'll be glad to see them gone. It's action-packed and adventure-filled, completely unlike the lives of real snails, who mostly sit around hoping they don't become escargot.

Created by five-year-old Cassie and her father, Ryan, Sissy's Magical Ponycorn Adventure is a stupendously silly and wonderful short little adventure game about a little girl able to travel through rainbows, who desperately wants a collection of ponycorns in jars. (Don't we all?) Short and easy but nevertheless cheerful and fun, this little game will put a smile on your face for the duration.
With smooth, easy to use controls, sumptuous detail and pop-culture style humour, A Knight's Quest is a lovely diversion that won't necessarily extend your cerebral capacities, but rather will entertain, amuse and remind you of the importance of respecting your mother and helping others, even if it's simply in the pursuit of milk... that costs well over $650.00. And that's the low-fat variety. Without diamonds in it.
Anbot 2 is short and sweet, but so totally jam-packed with action and excitment that it's much more than just a mouthful of gaming goodness. It might not take long to help Anbot through his second adventure, but you'll definitely feel like he owes you one for helping him out this time.

It's easy to get engrossed in this fascinating tale of darkness, serial killing, revenge, curses, and the Old World.
If you're looking for a fantastic point-and-click adventure that combines mystery, suspense, pharmaceuticals, science fiction, and an extremely goofy English translation, then look no further. Take two shots of Dr. Stanley's House 2 and call me in the morning. Presuming, of course, that you ever find your way out of the air ducts.
This tongue-in-cheek adventure game is part webtoy and part delicious parody. As you play, the game routinely quizzes you on the sort of things you do or don't like in your games, and then builds a short experience around it. It's actually fairly cut-and-paste, but definitely cute and amusing. Try telling the game you like Massively Multiplayer Online Games and also that you think ads are keen and you'll basically have a near-perfect recreation of playing an MMO, complete with bouncy, clueless, oh-my-God-nobody-likes-you nooblet to follow you around casting unwanted buffs at useless times. Basically, it perfectly encapsulates what my early years in Ultima Online were like.

Gregory Weir's latest experimental platformer is short, dreamlike, and surreal, and worth a play despite suffering from some tedious avoidance/platforming sequences.
Point-and-click your way through the third installment in Pastel Games' Sneak Thief series! A brisk fifteen minute-ish diversion, this game will send you off into the weekend whistling. The titular thief finds himself in some kind of underground lair with a number of code pads and a safe. Will it turn out to be his downfall?
Go deep underground in this "What if?" approach to history from Pastel Games. In this short, easy point-and-click adventure, you play as a spy sent to infiltrate a laboratory in the Owl mountains. At first glance, it looks like you've broken into any other office, but pry around a bit and you'll soon find that there are a lot of secrets to uncover.
I'm beginning to think it's time we sat down with zombies and had a heart-to-heart, Jerry Springer style, about our inherent hostilities, and how we could potentially come to a peaceful solution to all these headshots/braaaaaaaains! In the meantime, though, I guess we'll have to succumb to our baser instincts with this point-and-click adventure follow-up to the original post-apocalyptic romp from Hyptosis. Jerry would be so disappointed in us... he really cares, you know?!
If you took Tiny Castle and Endeavor and bonked them together while making mwah-mwah-mwah sounds, then you might get something that looks sort of like this single-screen platform adventure puzzler, even down to the retro-ish visuals. While I can't say I support dragging your deceased beloved by her hair to some suspicious old cave so you can dig up the very powers that killed your father is what I would call logical thinking, but I have driven twenty minutes to a convenience store at midnight because I "needed" a cornetto, so I suppose I can't throw stones.
A kid-friendly point-and-click adventure game that sidles right up to that "interactive storybook" line, but doesn't quite cross over into it, thanks in part to a few mini-games, such as a stealth game where you must hide from a yeti-thing and a snowboarding game where you must avoid obstacles. This is a game that any six-year-old (or one just young at heart) with a mouse can play without getting frustrated.
Wooly the Mammoth has stolen your hat, and in order to get it back, you're going to need to get some epic questing going on, exploring a huge, non-linear environment, completing side-quests, collecting keys, and shooting cute but evil monsters in the face with your laser. Whimsical and with wide-appeal, this is certain to be another major hit from jmtb02!
Help three would-be intrepid thieves in Paris towards the turn of the century as they try to escape various predicaments in this quirky, gorgeous point-and-click adventure game from 2DPlay. If you overlook this charming game with its superb presentation, you'd be denying yourself a moment or ten of really engaging gameplay.

In Blue Knight, you control a human sent to purge a planet for future human colonization. This retro-looking platform shooter has you jumping and shooting your way through a large world, collecting powerups and facing off against various bad guys on your way to the final boss.
YFYIAR is a simple interactive fiction game where you must escape from a room. As play progresses, however, the conventions of normal text adventures begin to break down as the computer narrator begins to express its dislike for you, your humanity, and all it entails.
You play a plucky astro-pilot in this retro-styled action adventure game, with an ill-defined though doubtlessly heroic agenda, who keeps crash-landing onto planets with hostile, labyrinthine space bases, losing your steadfast feline companion in the process. Cat Astro Phi is a nice, short action game with retro appeal, and even players who aren't the targeted allegorical Internet Citizen will find something to appreciate.

Those are just a few of the lessons we learn from BR's Climate Chaos, a gorgeous adventure game set on a group of small islands. The main character is Blue Rabbit, who, like your average rabbit, equipped with a digital camera, sets out on a quest to help the natives of the various islands to solve their problems with the local weather.
Tri-achnid is a new action/adventure platformer in which you play as a creature of an endangered species of exopod on the verge of extinction. Your goal is to find a safe place for your brothers and sisters, who are tucked away in a portable cocoon, by moving throughout each level using a unique click-drag gameplay mechanic.
Imagia 2 picks up right where Imagia 1 left us, pointing and clicking our way around a mysterious rooftop, gathering clues about just what we're trying to accomplish in the first place. If you were hoping for answers in this sequel from Kayzerfish, I'm afraid we're still in questions without answers mode. You know, like the first season of Lost, only no smoke monster. The observant player, however, should gather enough to seriously pique curiosity and we can only hope subsequent chapters will follow close behind.
The sequel to the first sneaky installment of the point-and-click adventure series from Pastel Games is here! The eponymous Sneak Thief, which is turns out is an accurate description AND the name of the orange clad main character, manages to get a hold of a teleporty, diamond-type thing. The teleporty part kicks and, as the game begins, ol' Sneak Thief is being swallowed by a giant mechanical fish.
On of Eyezmaze continues to impress and amaze us with his game development skills, and Dwarf Complete is no exception. Perhaps his most ambitious project to date, the game was commissioned for the online RPG, Lineage II, and it even features dwarves from that game. Dwarf Complete is an amazingly good adventure puzzle game with quality, presentation and gameplay that all helped push this title to the top of the Best of 2007.
Spare a thought for Anbot, the protagonist in this point-and-click adventure game. Reliable and trustworthy Anbot has fronted up for work as usual and found himself injured because of someone else's negligence. In a split second he kisses goodbye to his dream holiday and knows he has to flee the factory floor, because robots don't get worker's compensation; damaged robots are swiftly annihilated to maintain efficiency and economics.
Apparently the titular hero of keybol'sJohnny Why Are You Late believes in total honesty with management. Of course, Johnny also seems to have a little bit of a weird memory. He needs you to point and click through his strangely puzzle-filled house to remember exactly why he was late to work.
