Discrimination laws have hidden our prejudices, but not removed them

In many ways, today marks the beginning of the rest of Stephen Lawrence’s parents’ lives. Gary Dobson and David Norris were found guilty of murdering their son on the 22nd April 1993, receiving 15 years, 2 months and 14 years, 3 months respectively. It took 18 years to convict them, the same age Stephen was at his death. In those years, massive steps were made towards equality within policing and how Britain deals with racial differences socially.
