ABP Syndication

What is RSS/Syndication?

RSS stands for "Really Simple Syndication." It is a standard format for acquiring the latest news entries on blogs and news sites. Instead of going to each site or individual page, those pages come to you (think pizza pick-up vs. pizza delivery).

Does Associated Baptist Press have an RSS feed?

Yes. The orange icon above is a link to our RSS feed. The feed includes the latest news and opinion articles on our website.

How do I use ABP's RSS feed?

To receive updated entries from your favorite sites, like ABP, you need an RSS reader. To find one, just do a web search for "popular RSS readers" Most are free; you just need to download one. Then "subscribe" to the RSS feed by doing the following:

Click on the orange icon. This will take you to a page where you can use the RSS feed to find out when new articles have been posted to ABP's web site without having to go to our home page. Typically, you will install a program called a "news reader" or a "feed reader" on your computer. There are many different readers available; most are stand-alone programs, but some work as an add-in to your e-mail client or Web browser. You then "subscribe" to the feed by giving your reader the address of the RSS feed mentioned above.

How do I use ABP's RSS for my church or organizational website?

Churches and other organizations can use the syndication feed to feature ABP's news headlines on your website. This can help keep your members or supporters informed about Baptist life around the world they're visiting your site. You may need a small amount of custom programming to include ABP's RSS feed on your site. Unfortunately, because websites are based on so many different types of operating systems and programming languages, ABP is not able to provide individualized programming assistance.

What is available?

Below are options for you or for your church or other organization to feed the latest ABP articles directly onto your website. A few additions to your site's HTML coding is all it takes!
