Contributors are chosen for this special program based on their personal background, and the strength of their writing samples. All applicants must demonstrate:

• Expertise: Deep knowledge and personal experience (including academic certification and/or professional training in certain categories).
• Enthusiasm: Passion that comes across clearly in each piece of published content.
• Eloquence: A unique voice and a library of engaging, informative, high-quality articles.

Note that most Featured Contributor categories contain sub-categories or specialties - for example, Featured Entertainment Contributors can specialize in Movies, Music, TV and/or Entertainment News. Featured Contributors will only receive assignments within the specific subcategories where they have demonstrated excellence.

APPLICATIONS

You may apply to any of the topic categories listed below. In general, you will be notified about whether or not your application was accepted within two weeks. If you are accepted, you will receive a special label on your contributor profile and you will start receiving increased assignments in your topic area(s) immediately. If you are not accepted, you will be provided with an explanation and you may re-apply (up to three times per year) once you have addressed the notes provided by our editors.

Automotive

We're looking for auto experts and enthusiasts to create feature articles for Voices, along with other Yahoo! properties and partner sites.

Subcategories: There are no subcategories for Automotive.

Requirements: There are no specific educational or professional requirements associated with this category, but those with a background in the automotive industry and experienced automotive enthusiasts are encouraged to apply.

The Small Business subcategory does not require a specific professional or educational background, but personal experience is necessary.

Requirements: To be considered as a Featured Contributor in the Nutrition, Exercise, and Mental Health subcategories, you must have college degree or graduate degree in a related major, and/or professional experience in the health field. Educational or professional experience is preferred but not required for Women's Health and Alternative Medicine, but extensive personal experience and a strong publishing background within these topics are required.
