Triple swoop for Adams

Posted on: Mon 02 Jul 2012
Port Vale has reached agreement with three players ahead of the new campaign.

Manager Micky Adams has made the triple swoop ahead of the players returning to pre-season training today.

Jennison Myrie-Williams rejoins the club after completing a successful loan spell at Vale Park last season, while Ashley Vincent and Darren Murphy also link up with the rest of the squad.

Myrie-Williams and Vincent have agreed two-year deals, while Murphy has committed to a one-year contract, with a one-year option.

Said Adams:

"All three players have committed to join us for the new campaign and that is a huge bonus for us.

"Jennison impressed during his loan spell last season and I disappointed at the time that I wasn't able to continue that. Ashley can play either up-front or on the wing so he will provide us with another attacking option, while I believe Darren will help to strengthen our midfield.

"This is a new start for the club, both on and off the pitch, and I am pleased that all three players have committed their immediate futures to us."

Myrie-Williams, 24, joins the Valiants from Stevenage Borough. He made six appearances for Vale last season after joining on loan, a spell which included scoring a 25-yard screamer against Dagenham and Redbridge.

Murphy, 26, also joins from Stevenage Borough after leaving the club at the end of last season. The Irish midfielder was part of the Stevenage side which earned back to back promotions from the Conference to League One during his four years with the club.

Birmingham-born Vincent, 27, joins following three-years at Colcester United. After starting his career at Wolverhampton Wanderers, he also spent five years at Cheltenham Town, where he won the League Two play-off final.
