I rescue animals, and I gravitate to the elderly ones, for they are the forgotten ones who have devoted their lives to a family, only to be tossed away like trash. Yes, the elderly animals are the most beautiful.

This really touched me. These animals look so wise-how could you not be moved??

There's a great book on this topic by Gene Weingarten and Michael Williamson of the Washington Post. Title is Old Dogs Are the Best Dogs. http://www.amazon.com/Old-Dogs-Are-Best/dp/1416534997/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid;=1336549684&sr;=8-6

We have kept each animal that has graced our presence until the end, good or bad. Our current cat is twelve and if he lives until his life must be ended I will hope to administer something myself since he hates the vet. I would hate for his last moments to be upsetting to him.

To Mark Little, you must find a mobile vet - they are wonderful - they cater to elderly pets (and elderly owners) or those folks with multiple pets. I have found them to be actually AS reasonable or cheaper when you consider they don't have to fund an office. It made a world of difference for my golden retriever who developed severe anxiety when ever we went to the vet - in our home, he thought the vet was one of our friends! Remarkable! Good luck...

Thank you for sharing our film, it means so much to us!
