I used to manage the Parkway many years ago. We changed double features everyday. During our first month in existence on Clark Street, we sold out many evening shows. We later repaired the balcony so that we didn't have to turn people away. Besides the great films, my favorite part of working there was the great staff. They were known for creating the many witty sayings featured on the marquees outside the theater. Also, our answering machine message usually featured Scott Marks and his spot-on impression of Irv Kupcinet reading the show times for the next day's double features.
