Girls Volleyball: West Aurora holds on to claim Festival Tournament crown
Glenbard South rallied from a 23-20 deficit to take a 24-23 lead but couldn’t close out the Blackhawks. Instead, West Aurora put together its own little rally, scoring three straight points, including Demi Heiss’s game winner for a 26-24 triumph.

Pat Flynn scored another dramatic goal Saturday night, drilling a 23-yard shot just inside the left post with 39 seconds remaining to give the host Redhawks a 1-0 victory over Benet in the championship game of the Best of the West Tournament.

Boys Cross Country: Lockport packs up a win
Plainfield East’s Joseph Suarez was first over the Plainfield Central course in 15 minutes, 28.23 seconds, while teammate Cody Hughes wasn’t far behind in third (15:59.17) and Jake Runnion took sixth (16:03.54) to lead Plainfield East to the team title of the 16-school Wildcat Invitational.
