Two fun events are just a few days away in Hammond.

The “Sing-a-long Sound of Music” is set to run Aug. 25 at The Pavilion at Wolf Lake, 2324 Calumet Ave. in Hammond. Tickets are available for $5 at the gate, which opens at 5 p.m. Festivities begin at 7:30 p.m. Wear your favorite Sound of Music costume! Bring your own blanket,chairs, food and beverages.

The So Long Summer Special Needs Dance is slated to be from 6 to 9 p.m.  Aug. 31 At The Pavilion at Wolf Lake, 2324 Calumet Ave. Hammond. It is a free event and no registration necessary. Bring a blanket and a meal and dance the night away.

Just minutes from downtown Chicago, take the Skyway to Indianapolis Boulevard and turn south on Calumet Avenue.
