Welcome to the virtual home of the Friends of the Morton Grove Forest Preserves

Our organization was the vision of Gladys Bryer of Evanston who envisioned a local group of volunteers who would monitor the wonderful natural areas found in our town. These included Linne Woods, Miami and St. Paul Woods, Wayside Woods and the Morton Grove Prairie. A request sent out in the fall of 1997 attracted about fifteen interested persons who met at a private home. From this initial meeting, the group has grown to over 70 volunteers and we have recently been granted 501c3 status, and are officially a non-profit organization. Our mission is to be stewards of our local natural areas and waterways, and to preserve and advocate the restoration of these areas. We hope you will enjoy exploring our website. Should you wish to learn more about or to get involved, please contact us.
