Equalities transparency expenditure transactions

The Government Equalities Office and the Equality and Human Rights Commission are committed to releasing data to support the government's move to greater openness.

The transparency agenda is at the heart of the government’s commitment to:

enable the public to hold politicians and public bodies to account
reduce the deficit and deliver better value for money in public spending
realise significant economic benefits by enabling business and non profit organisations to build innovative applications and websites using public data

Our commitment

Government Equalities Office (GEO) and the Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) are committed to the transparency agenda. The Home Office business plan includes a section on transparency which outlines the input and impact indicators to help measure performance.

Expenditure transactions

In support of the prime minister's commitment towards the transparency of public bodies, GEO and EHRC have opted to publish expenditure transactions over £500, which is far below the government’s current minimum requirement.

Although the focus is on departments using readily available financial information, departments are asked to publish their expenditure information taking a consistent approach to timing, format and content.
