Certificate of designation

The places where scientific procedures are carried out must be licensed under a Certificate of Designation unless the nature of the work requires that it be carried out in other places, such as farms or fields. Certain types of animal must also be obtained from designated breeding or supplying establishments.

  • An application form for a certificate of designation - including guidance notes
  • An application form for changes to a certificate of designation

Where to send completed forms

Completed application forms should be sent via the applicant's Certificate Holder to the local office. Correspondence should be addressed to the Home Office and not a named official.
