Business plan quarterly data summary

The Business plan quarterly data summary's (QDS) primary purpose is to make management information currently held by government available to members of the public. See the quarterly data summary and measurement annex.

Capability action plan

The capability action plan for the Home Office is an assessment of leadership, strategy and delivery. This report has been developed through extensive desk and field based evidence-gathering work, with rigorous challenge provided by two non-executive directors.

Continuous improvement strategy

The continuous improvement strategy sets out our vision to improve productivity across the business, resulting in increased performance while reducing costs. We achieve this by gaining a better understanding of the whole system, building capability and confidence to enable staff to achieve changes themselves by challenging old ways of working, all supported by a rigorous evidence base.

Diversity strategy 2010-13

The Home Office diversity strategy 2010-13 was launched in June 2010. It sets out our ambitions on equality and diversity over the next three years, both in relation to staff and delivering services to the public. The diversity strategy progress report 2011-12 shows what has been achieved during the second year of the strategy and sets the priorities for the coming year.

Employment monitoring report 2011-12

This year's report sets out the results of employment monitoring for 2011-12, showing how the Home Office is performing against the monitoring of its statutory duties to its employees in accordance with equality legislation.

Overseas territories and the Home Office

On 14 September 2011 the government announced a new strategy which sought to strengthen engagement between the UK and its 14 overseas territories. This paper provides an overview of the assistance the Home Office provides to the territories.

Public Accounts Committee recommendations

The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) is appointed by the House of Commons to examine 'the accounts showing the appropriation of the sums granted to Parliament to meet the public expenditure, and of such other accounts laid before Parliament as the Committee may think fit' (Standing Order No 148).

In order to do this the Committee hold inquiries into different aspects of the Home Office considering the evidence it has received. After each inquiry a report is written which provides details of the evidence and usually makes recommendations to the Home Office. 

Resource accounts

These Home Office resource accounts show the department's income and expenditure for 2009-10, as well as its departmental spending, resource and capital budget, capital employed, administration costs, staff numbers, and identifiable expenditure by country, region and function, from 2004-05 to 2010-11.

Statement of new regulation

The statement of new regulation lists new regulations and changes to regulations due to be implemented before the end of 2012 that impact on the private and voluntary sector.
