LG's
BD300 Netflix / Blu-ray player may have
been delayed in some instances, but it appears that all is well at Best Buy. One particular tipster has managed to acquire the deck and set it up proudly on top of his HD DVD player. He reported that a firmware update was required right from the get-go for Netflix streaming to be utilized, and once that was over, streaming commenced quickly and smoothly. He also noted that Netflix quality was only so-so, but his 2Mbps internet connection
did limit the quality to just two out of four stars. Have a look at the in the wild shots below.

Can it output DVDs at native 480i? No upconversion from the player, meaning that my preamp can do the video upconversion. That's what I'm looking for.
Toshiba's HD DVD players looked so nice...
Wish they would update their old flagship model, the BH200, to support BD-Live like they promised.
I don't know why HD-DVD is brought up again but those players didn't look butt-ugly. These have a look of an old 1980 VCR or BetaMax. Aesthetically gross.
I noticed the "movie" and "photos" tabs in the images which makes me wonder... can this play video files streamed from your computer a la Popcorn Hour or PS3?
If so, what a home theater solution this would be for those intimidated by game systems for their movies.
Hope they come out with a model with a DVD burner and a hard drive.
They can keep the P.O.S. blu-ray player.
