How Can I Use SQUARE:CODE’s QR Codes in My Lesson?
Digitalised Portfolios or Books
Student portfolios and exercise books could also be digitalised with the use of SQUARE:CODE. For example, when the teacher has marked the students work they could quickly scan the SQUARE:CODE which has been placed on the front cover of the exercise book. This will then display a personalised message to the student about the most recent work. QR Codes for teachers when it works the best.
Instead of placing all papers and reports into a folder, the student’s teacher could upload some examples of their work into an online file accessed by a code that was assigned to the student at the beginning of the year or even at the beginning of their school career. This technology can also be used to connect teachers with student’s parents – for example, instead of simply linking to the child’s portfolio, the Code could link to behaviour expectations, classroom goals and any worries or concerns, as well as a few sample questions that parents could ask their students in order to equip themselves with knowledge about what the child is actually doing in the class.

Hook Them!
Before students enter your room there tends to be a few minutes when they wait patiently (or not so…) outside your classroom. This is a great opportunity to get them involved in their learning even before the lesson begins. Create a SQUARE:CODE and place it outside your classroom. Schedule the code so that it displays a new hook for example a video clip, image, quote and so on, for each new lesson of the day – make sure it displays a few minutes before the lesson starts. this means that students begin to think about your lesson even before it has started! The Hunt
Now the excitement begins! Because you can schedule different content to show at different times during the day week month and year, you can create engaging, high order thinking games that require students to communicate with each other to solve puzzles and problems but also interact with their physical environment – taking learning beyond the classroom. This means students may only get information at a specific time and if there is nothing there they have to continue looking until such a time the content appears.
