Strike Suit Zero developer Born Ready Games is launching a Kickstarter to finish the project. The money is "necessary to keep the game in development for a few more months."
"Strike Suit Zero is incredibly close to being the game we want it to be, but we've realized that we need a little more time, which means that the budget needed to be increased," said Born Ready Games CEO James Brooksby. "We hope that with the help of Kickstarter we can bring Strike Suit Zero to launch as the best space combat title the genre has seen for over a decade, and at the same time connect with space game fans around the world."
One of the bonuses to early backers of the project is access to the game's PC beta. The final game is still planned for PC, Xbox Live and PSN.
We were first introduced to Strike Suit Zero at last year's Gamescom. The interstellar arcade shooter features mechanical designs by Junji Okubo (Appleseed: Ex Machina, Steel Battalion) and music by Paul Ruskay (Homeworld) and Kokia (Tales of Innocence). The game was originally planned for Q1 2012.
