Apples' senior vice president of worldwide marketing, Phil Schiller, has revealed the new line of Mac Minis to a packed audience of international media in San Jose, California.
"You knew there'd be something called mini in this presentation, didn't you?" said Schiller, riffing on the expectations that Apple would use this presentation to unveil an Apple iPad Mini.

Schiller fairly raced through the Mac Mini's features, stating that it comes in two formats; there's Mini Mac with a 2.5 GHz dual-core Intel Core i5 with Tspeeds up to 3.1 GHz, 4GB of memory and a 500GB hard drive for a suggested retail price of £499, a 2.3 GHz quad-core Intel Core i7 with speeds up to 3.3 GHz, 4GB of memory and a 1TB hard drive for a suggested retail price of £679.
Finally, there's a 2.3 GHz quad-core Intel Core i7 with speeds up to 3.3 GHz, OS X Server, 4GB of memory and two 1TB hard drives for RRP £849.
All models offer Gigabit Ethernet, Firewire 800, 3 USB ports, an HDMI port, Thunderbolt connector and an SD Card slot. They're also Wi Fi ready, and boast both intel HD Graphics 4,000 and Bluetooth 4.0 connectiivity.
Alongside the new Mac Mini Apple unveiled its all
new iMac which can boast to be 80 per cent thinner than its previous model and will become the flagship desktop for Apple.
Billed by Schiller as the most energy effecient desktop in the world, the new, eco-friendly Mac Mini will start shipping today.
