It can be a bit random at times, but JellyCar 3's springy gameplay is extremely engaging.

Jelly Car 3 Review

by on October 11, 2012

Who’d have thought that a game featuring a car made of jelly could be such a winning formula? JellyCar has now reached its third, and best, iteration – and aside from a couple of intrinsic flaws, it’s a wibbly wobbly delight.

The car in question can be moved forwards and backwards. You can also make it bigger and smaller with the touch of your finger, and roll it by tilting your device. Using these few functions, you then have to work your way past each level’s platform-based obstacles to reach the exit.

Challenges and hazards come in the form of obstructions, different surface textures, trapdoors and so on, and you have to crawl, climb, wheelie, roll and squeeze your way through them to reach the goal. A particularly neat feature is the ability to upload and download ghost cars of your best times, so you can challenge your friends.

The level design is mostly excellent, but the car’s wobbly nature does make your progress rather chaotic at times. For the most part, though, JellyCar 3 is tremendously enjoyable.
