Tenant shot at by house owner

Periyasamy (43), a worker in a rice shop, and a tenant of a house was shot at by Mahadevan (55) owner of the house on Friday night.

Periyasamy sustained injury on his hand and was admitted to Thanjavur Medical College Hospital. Thanjavur South Police arrested Mahadevan and seized the country gun which he used to shoot Periyasamy.

The police said Mahadevan had a quarrel with Periyasamy a few days back while collecting drinking water. Mahadevan asked Periyasamy to vacate the house.

Quarrel

Last night when he asked Periyasamy to vacate, a quarrel erupted between the two and Mahadevan took his gun and shot at Periyasamy.
