Live blog: US election day

Voting is winding up in the United States, where Americans are deciding whether Barack Obama or Mitt Romney will be their next president.

The two men were locked in the polls heading into election day but pollsters give Mr Obama a slight advantage in key swing states.

There have been long queues at polling stations and the turnout is expected to be high. The first meaningful results are expected to start rolling in about 11:00am AEDT.
