Prize remains unclaimed after winning Powerball ticket sold in Palatine

A person has yet to come forward to claim their $1 million Powerball lottery prize after purchasing a winning ticket at a bar in the northwest suburb of Palatine, Illinois Lottery officials said Monday.

The “quick pick” ticket – bearing the Saturday’s winning numbers of 4, 21, 28, 31, 44 and (10) – was sold at the Lamplighter Inn Tavern and Grille, located at 60 North Bothwell Street, according to a release.

While the winner will be $1 million, the Palatine bar will not go empty handed. Lottery officials say the bar will receive a 10,000 bonus and a 1 percent share of the Powerball jackpot as a reward for selling the winning ticket.

Proceeds from the Illinois Lottery help pay for schools and building projects around the state.
