Angry Birds Trilogy 'Anger Management' DLC brings back 130 levels for $5

While Angry Birds Trilogy encompasses Angry Birds, Angry Birds Seasons, and Angry Birds Rio, some of the mobile levels didn't make the cut. Those are now available as DLC for an extra $5 (400 MSP).

The "Anger Management" DLC pack includes 130 levels from episodes like Ham 'O' Ween, Piglantis and more. It also introduces the orange bird, which can expand like a gigantic, feathery blowfish. He looks pretty uncomfortable in the trailer above, but in the life of a bird the brief flash of pain must make the conquest over pigs feel all the more satisfying.

Adventure Time: Hey Ice King soundtrack now on streaming

The entirety of Adventure Time: Hey Ice King, Why'd You Steal Our Garbage?!!'s phenomenal pseudo-chiptune power-pop soundtrack is now streaming on D3Publisher's official Soundcloud account, which means that all 83 minutes of Jake Kaufman's exceptional work on the game can now be enjoyed for free.

While the majority of the 34 track album is instrumental, some songs (such as Marceline's boss theme and the beginning/ending themes) are fitting vocal tributes to the source material, which is already famous for having catchy, endearing music.

There is one small catch, which is that the soundtrack isn't actually for sale or available to download, and therefore must be enjoyed in-browser. This basically ruins our plans to drive around town blasting Party in the Clouds, but we'll take what we can get at this point.

NintendoWare Weekly Wario Land 2, Mario Tennis Open
More full retail games are flooding onto the 3DS eShop, including Nintendo-published games Mario Tennis Open, Pilotwings Resort, and Pokemon Rumble Blast. The best deal, however, is Bit.Trip Saga, which collects all six Bit.Trip games for $15. Game Boy Color classic Wario Land 2 is also up on 3DS today.

Meanwhile, on the Wii U eShop, this ... is ... Jeopardy! Nintendo TVii's launch date is also today, so, uh ... Jeopardy! again!

Pokemon Mystery Dungeon opens 'Gates to Infinity' on 3DS in March

Pokemon Mystery Dungeon
Pokemon's kid-friendly roguelike spinoff comes to 3DS in North America on March 24. The localized title, Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity, removes the Japanese title's reference to "Magnagates" presumably because that word is really hard to read.

Magnagates still figure into the game design, however, allowing players to scan any real-world circular shape with the 3DS camera, turning the image of that object into a gate through which new, randomly-generated dungeons can be accessed.

Like other recent releases, Gates to Infinity will be released both as a cartridge and on the eShop.

Trying to make sense of Tokyo Crash Mobs

After spending some time with Tokyo Crash Mobs on the 3DS, I feel there are three equally appropriate descriptions one could use for this game.

You could call Tokyo Crash Mobs a color-matching game about friends Savannah and Grace, both of whom hate lines and want to buy stuff at stores because they don't know what the internet is.

Or you could call it Zuma because it's a lot like Zuma – developed by Mitchell, it's based on Puzzloop, an arcade series that Zuma is openly inspired by.

Finally, you could call Tokyo Crash Mobs the last bastion of FMV in video games, a hall of nostalgic camp lifted up by non-sensical cutscenes of digitized sprites of women floating in space and trying to sneak kisses from other, unconscious digitized sprites of women. You could call Tokyo Crash Mobs a game filled with odd phrases that I kind of think may be Engrish but then the localization team decided to leave them in so I don't know what to think – hey, wait, what was I saying again?

Actually, now that I've had some time to reflect, the third description is definitely the way to go.

Shin Megami Tensei Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers coming to North America in spring

The next game in the Shin Megami Tensei series to make it to North America is one that missed its chance before. Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers was released on Saturn in Japan in 1997, but was never localized.

But now Atlus is planning to release a localized version of the 3DS remake in North America in the spring of 2013. The first-person RPG combines a futuristic "cyberpunk" setting with the traditional SMT demon battles and negotiations. The 3DS screen adds automapping functions and the ability to change difficulty levels on the fly.

Street Fighter X Mega Man out today, Mega Man 1-6 coming to 3DS

Street Fighter X Mega Man out today, Mega Man 16 coming to 3DS
Street Fighter X Mega Man, the Capcom-supported fan crossover game by Seow Zong Hui, is available for download now. We're guessing there's significant interest in a new, semi-official, free Mega Man game, because Capcom's site seems to be getting overwhelmed. Mega Man fans know how to be patient when waiting for a new game, of course, so we know you'll be able to get it eventually.

In other exciting Mega Man news, Capcom plans to release all six NES games on the 3DS Virtual Console in North America and Europe, starting with Mega Man on December 27, followed by Mega Man 2 on Feb. 7. Yes, we're excited to have two pieces of Mega Man news in one day.

Unchained Blades loosed upon 3DS eShop Jan. 3

The dungeon RPG Unchained Blades was released on PSP back in June, but 3DS owners in North America are still waiting for it. That wait ends January 3, when XSEED will release the game, which features creature designs by a variety of Japanese artists, on the 3DS eShop.

Unchained Blades is about a group of monster characters venturing through first-person dungeons to unlock their monster-y powers, and to convince other monsters to join their cause. In Japan, there's already a sequel, which XSEED has said it would only even consider localizing after this 3DS release.

Square Enix sale offers discounts on everything Square Enix

Square Enix sale offers discounts on everything Square Enix
Square Enix is hosting another sale on its online store, one that actually appears to discount Hitman: Absolution for real. Basically, almost everything in the store is 50% off, with free shipping to the contiguous US states.

Some of the noteworthy offers, just from a quick overview, include $14 Dead Island ($10 on PC); $10 each for a bunch of standout DS games like Chrono Trigger DS, Exit, Final Fantasy: The 4 Heroes of Light, and both Space Invaders Extremes; Nier for $10; and more. Even DLC is on sale. Basically, if it's from Square Enix and from this generation, it's on sale.

Even iOS release Demons' Score is discounted, in its own offer. Through January 31, it's just 99 cents (down from $7), and the many, many in-app purchases are all cheaper.

Crimson Shroud review: A successful roll

Crimson Shroud review A successful roll
You may not see them, but dice rolls are pretty much everywhere in RPGs. Even role-playing shooters like Alpha Protocol feature dice rolls to an extent. But Crimson Shroud is one of the few I can think of to literally feature dice. It's one of its most endearing features.

In essence, Crimson Shroud is a one-shot tabletop adventure for the Nintendo 3DS. As with the classic Dungeons & Dragons games, multiple dice are used in everything from rolling for initiative to determining whether the party can launch a surprise attack. Characters are represented by the tiny figurines used to map distance, and the story is told across long tracts of text, as if the Dungeon Master were actually narrating. For longtime tabletop gamers, it's a treat.

Two more demos join FIFA on the Wii U eShop today: Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed, and the painfully distant Rayman Legends. 3DS also sees the arrival of two demos, one for the eShop game Art of Balance Touch and one for WayForward's Adventure Time, a game which was released to retail last month and finds a home on the eShop today.

Also arriving on 3DS eShop: Yasumi Matsuno's tabletop-style RPG Crimson Shroud, the third of Level-5's Guild01 games.

EscapeVektor 3DS dated, Vita too in Europe, Australia, New Zealand

Former WiiWare exclusive EscapeVektor is breaking out onto 3DS on December 20, while Europe, Australia, and New Zealand welcome a Vita version the day before on December 19. The Vita version of the retro-styled puzzler is coming to North America at some point, but developer Nnooo hasn't set a release date. EscapeVektor is priced on 3DS at US$9.99/€9.99/AUえーゆー$13/NZ$17, and on Vita the prices are €9.99/AUえーゆー$15.95/NZ$18.90.

Beyond bundling all four chapters initially planned for WiiWare into one game, the Vita and 3DS editions feature console-specific functionality; the 3DS version includes 3D graphics, while the Vita version uses the gyroscope to adjust camera angles. Both versions also include leaderboards.

Sega sues Level-5, charges patent infringement in Inazuma Eleven

Sega is suing Level 5 over touchscreen mechanic patent
Level-5, perhaps best known in the western world as the publisher of the Professor Layton games, has a popular soccer series in Japan called Inazuma Eleven, and Sega doesn't like it. Sega is suing Level-5, alleging patent infringement on a mechanic in Nintendo DS versions of Inazuma Eleven that allows players to move characters with their fingers or a stylus, Kotaku reports.

Sega's endgame is to halt the sale of all eight Inazuma Eleven games and to get ¥900 million ($11 million) in damages from Level-5. The case heard opening statements on December 7, and Level-5 plans to fight the charges.

"We are preparing our rebuttal and do not have any comments to make at this time," Level-5 says.

Popcap seeks dev with Frostbite 2 experience for a AAA game

Popcap working with Frostbite 2 for 'AAA console title'
Popcap is looking for a generalist software engineer with "experience working with the Frostbite 2 engine" for a "AAA console title," a job posting spotted by Superannuation reveals. Popcap is, of course, the mobile and social studio behind Bejeweled and Plants vs. Zombies, so a foray into AAA territory is surprising, to say the least.

The job listing says, specifically: "The PopCap studio is looking for an experienced generalist SE to build a AAA console title. This generalist will work on a broad range of game systems including, but not limited to: animation, audio, resource management, pipelines and visual effects. The ideal candidate will also have experience working with the Frostbite 2 engine."

Keep your eyes peeled for a first-person version of Plants vs. Zombies – the twist? You play as the plant.

Bit.Trip Saga coming to 3DS eShop December 20 for $15

Aksys Games is bringing Bit.Trip Saga, the Gaijin Games 3DS compilation that hit retail last year, to Nintendo's eShop on December 20. What's more, the collection will cost $14.99, saving players a whole bunch of dollars in addition to the convenience of the compilation being downloadable.

Bit.Trip Saga includes Bit.Trip Beat, Bit.Trip Core, Bit.Trip Void, Bit.Trip Runner, Bit.Trip Fate and Bit.Trip Flux. If our math is correct, that's only a couple dollars per game in the six-game bundle. What a deal!

Spike VGA 2012 winners: Walking Dead takes GOTY, Journey floats away with a few awards

This year's Spike Video Game Awards just concluded and in between the Samuel L. Jackson skits and Black Ops 2 commercials, some awards were given to this year's standouts. The Walking Dead won a few, shuffling away from VGA 2012 with the Game of the Year award and Best Downloadable Game, Best Adapted Game. Telltale Games also won Studio of the Year.

Journey had the most nominations this year and won Best PS3 Game, Best Original Score and Best Independent Game. Best Xbox 360 Game went to Halo 4, while Best PC Game went to XCOM: Enemy Unknown. You may have missed that last one because it wasn't in the actual show.

Borderlands 2 also snagged a few: Best Shooter and Best Multiplayer Game. Dishonored ended up being awarded with Best Action Adventure Game.

For the full list of this year's winners, head past the break.
