Our tracking service

We aim to provide you with visibility of your items during the delivery process by scanning items at different points in their journey. Each scan provides a description of where your item is in the delivery process. You'll be able to view these descriptions on our online tracking tool.

The number of times an item is scanned in the delivery process and the type of descriptions you will be able to view depends on:

  • which delivery service is being used (eg Parcel Post Plus, Express Post, Express Post Platinum, Registered Post, Express Courier International, Pack and Track International, etc)
  • how your item is lodged (eg lodged over the counter at an Australia Post retail outlet or dropped in a street posting box)
  • how your item is being delivered (eg by a local Postal Delivery Officer, courier or international postal organisation).

What information is shown on the Online Tracking Tool?

Tracking descriptions you are likely to see for your chosen service are listed below.

These descriptions may vary and your item may receive fewer or additional scans during the delivery process.

Please note: We have simplified our tracking descriptions to make it easier for you to understand where your parcel is in the delivery process.
