Delivery

Australian Geographic Retail Pty Ltd delivers to Australia and New Zealand using Australia Post.  Deliveries are despatched from our Distribution Centre in Sydney, NSW.  Goods  purchased through Australian Geographic Retail Pty Ltd eShop are not available for collection.

We will endeavour to package your order within 24hrs on a business day, whereby it will then be delivered via Australia Post for Australian orders or DHL for International orders. Normal Australia Post or DHL delivery times will then apply.

Left it a bit late? Need your parcel urgently? Call eShop Customer Service on 1300 746 724 Mon-Fri 0900-1600, for orders placed before 12noon EST we can arrange Express Post for an additional charge.

Regular Delivery Charges (Not Express Post)

  • A fee of $7.95 for postage, handling and insurance applies to all standard orders with a total value of less than $100.00.
  • A fee of $9.95 for postage, handling and insurance applies to all standard orders with a total value in excess of $100.00.
  • Large or fragile items attract a fee of $29.95 due to weight or additional packaging required.
This fee scale applies to orders placed through the  Australian Geographic eShop only.  It does not apply to mail orders placed through the Australian Geographic Retail stores (postage cost will be quoted at the time of purchase).

We suggest you give an address where you will most likely be during the day to receive delivery, as you will be asked to sign for the receipt of your parcel.  We can deliver to all business, residential and PO Box addresses in Australia.

Anyone at the delivery address at the time of the delivery will be presumed to be authorised to receive the goods on your behalf.  If there is no one at the delivery address, a notification card will be left for collection at your local post office.

Delivery address details of your order can be changed up to the point of dispatch.  Please email us at eshop@agretail.com.au immediately to advise these changes.  Please note delivery details cannot be changed after your order has been dispatched from our Distribution Centre.

To track your order once it has been despatched from our warehouse, go into your order and make a note of the Shipment number. Then visit DHL and enter the AGR shipping number into the Track and Trace box. If you placed your order as a 'Guest' rather than a Registered User, then please email eshop@agretail.com.au and we can advise you of the progress of your parcel.

We reserve the right to correct any printing errors.


Refunds and Returns Policy

We will gladly refund, credit or exchange products in original sale condition on presentation of the original Australian Geographic Retail Pty Ltd eShop sales receipt.  Delivery and packaging charges are not refundable unless as a result of our error.  All returns are to be sent to:

Refunds will be issued upon receipt of goods to the address directly above.  Refunds are issued via the same channel as the original purchase.  For example, if the item was purchased through eWay, the credit will be processed through the same credit card (Mastercard/Visa/American Express).  Payments through Paypal will be refunded to the same Paypal account as the original purchase.


Can I Exchange a product at an Australian Geographic Store?

We will happily Exchange an AG product that was purchased from our eShop, in one of our stores within 30 days of purchase or until 31st January 2013 for Christmas purchases. Please return the product in resaleable condition, with the Tax Invoice and we will gladly exchange. Don't have a Tax Invoice because your product was a gift? Contact eshop@agretail.com.au or call 1300 746 724 during the above office hours.


Can I Refund a product at an Australian Geographic Store?

If you require a refund for a product that was originally purchased from the Australian Geographic eShop, then the product must be returned to the eShop as detailed above. Unfortunately we are unable to refund eShop purchases at our Stores. Please call 1300 746 724 if you have further questions.

Terms and Conditions

1. Information on how to enter and the prizes forms part of these Terms and Conditions. By participating, entrants agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
2. Entry is only open to residents of Australia who are 15 years of age or over.
3. Employees (and their immediate families) of the Promoter and agencies associated with this promotion are ineligible to enter. Immediate family means any of the following: spouse, ex-spouse, de-facto spouse, child or step-child (whether natural or by adoption), parent, step-parent, grandparent, step-grandparent, uncle, aunt, niece, nephew, brother, sister, step-brother, step-sister or 1st cousin.
4. Entrants under 18 years old must have parental/guardian approval to enter and further, the parent/guardian of the entrant must read and consent to these Terms and Conditions. Parents/guardians may be required by the Promoter to enter into a further agreement as evidence of consent to the minor entering this promotion.
5. The Promoter reserves the right, at any time, to verify the validity of entries and entrants (including an entrant’s identity, age and place of residence) and to disqualify any entrant who submits an entry that is not in accordance with these Terms and Conditions or who tampers with the entry process. Errors and omissions may be accepted at the Promoter's discretion. Failure by the Promoter to enforce any of its rights at any stage does not constitute a waiver of those rights.
6. The promotion commences on 1 November 2012 and entries close 5pm AEDST 24 December 2012 (Promotional Period).
7. To enter, individuals must, during the Promotional Period:
a) complete the official entry form, including nominating which holiday they would like the chance to win, and place together in the entry box provided in their nearest Australian Geographic retail store; or
b) visit shop.australiangeographic.com.au follow the prompts to the promotion entry page, input the requested details including nominating which holiday they would like the chance to win, and submit the fully completed entry form,
8. Only one (1) entry permitted per person.
9. Incomplete, indecipherable or illegible entries will be deemed invalid.
10. If there is a dispute as to the identity of an entrant, the Promoter reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to determine the identity of the entrant.
11. The draw will take place at ACP Magazines, Lvl 9, 54 Park St, Sydney, NSW 2000 on 24 January 2013 at 12:00pm AEDST from all entries received at the Promotional Period. The winners will be notified by telephone and in writing within two (2) business days of the draw, using the contact details provided in their entry form, and their names will be published in The Australian on 31 January 2013. The Promoter may draw additional reserve entries and record them in order in case an invalid entry or ineligible entrant is drawn.
12. The Promoter’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

MAJOR PRIZE

13. The first valid entry drawn will win the major prize (Major Prize): a trip for two (2) people to Papua New Guinea (PNG) with their choice of holiday nominated at the time of entry. The following holidays are available to choose at the time of entry:

  • a) An 11day/10night guided trek of the Kokoda Trail, valued at up to AUえーゆー$7,500 with Kokoda Courage & PNG Holidays including:

    • return economy airfares for the winner and one (1) companion (15 years of age or older) from either Sydney, Brisbane or Cairns flying Air Niugini to Port Moresby, PNG;
    • 9 day/8 day sensible trekking itinerary from Ower's Corner to Kokoda

    • b) A 7 day/6 night Lissenung Island Resort Dive / Surf / Cultural Coastal Adventure valued at up to AUえーゆー$5,560 with PNG Holidays including:
    • Return economy airfares for the winner and one (1) companion (13 years of age or older) from either Sydney, Brisbane or Cairns flying Air Niugini to Kavieng, PNG;
    • six 6 nights accommodation for two (2) people in a standard bungalow with private bathroom at Lissenung Island Resort;
    • return airport to hotel transfers;
    • all meals from dinner on day 1 to breakfast (time permitting) on day 7; and
    • A choice of one (1) subject to PNG Holidays discretion at time of prize redemption of the following activities:
    • diving 3 x 2 dive days including transfers and gear hire;
    • surfing 4 days including reef fees and transfers; or
    • snorkelling trips on the dive boats or village tours.

    • 5 nights accommodation for two (2) people in a deluxe bungalow with private bathroom at Tufi Resort;
    • Return domestic airfares from Port Moresby to Tufi Resort, Oro Province;
    • all meals and water/tea/coffee;
    • A choice of one (1) subject to PNG Holidays discretion at time of prize redemption of the following activities:
    • diving 3 x 2 dive days including boat transfers and gear hire; or
    • cultural or village tours x 2 full days.
    • Conditions:
    • Prize is subject to availability;
    • Extra activities and speciality or night dives will incur additional charges;
    • Alcohol and soft drinks are not included.
    • Valid – trip must be booked and completed by 31 December 2013.

      • 14. For the avoidance of doubt, the Major Prize winner will only win one (1) of the above PNG holiday Major Prizes. In the event the Major Prize winner chooses a cheaper Major Prize, they will not be entitled to any cash or credit against a higher valued Major Prize.
      • 15. Spending money, additional meals or beverages, taxes (excluding airline and airport taxes), insurance, passports, visas, vaccinations, transport to and from departure point, additional transfers, items of a personal nature, in-room charges and all other ancillary costs are not included in the Major Prize. Tour dates and times are subject to the Major Prize supplier schedules and will be advised at the time of booking. Major Prize is subject to booking and flight availability.
      • 16. During the entire duration of the Major Prize, a nominated parent/guardian must accompany any person under 18 years of age.
      • 17. The Major Prize winner and their companion are responsible for ensuring that they have valid passports, and any requisite visas, vaccinations, and travel documentation.
      • 18. The Major Prize winner and their companion must depart from and return to the same departure point and travel together. Frequent flyer points will not form part of the Major Prize. Itinerary of the Major Prize will be determined by the Promoter and/or service provider in their absolute discretion. The Major Prize winner and companion will be responsible for their own transportation arrangements and all associated fares and costs to make their way to the nearest Air Niugini Australian port, i.e. Sydney, Brisbane or Cairns, in order to take the Major Prize. The Major Prize winner may be required to present their credit card at time of accommodation check in.
      • 19. The winner of the Major Prize and their companion acknowledge that the Major Prize may contain a dangerous activity (“Activity”) that may result in injury or death, and participate at their own risk. The winner and their companion must: (a) attend, undergo and pass any appropriate training, briefings, required medical tests and other requirements of the Promoter and Activity organisers as determined by them in their absolute discretion; (b) not have any heart condition or history thereof, or other medical conditions that would make it dangerous to participate in the Activity; (c) not be under the influence of drugs or alcohol; (d) comply with all directions of the Promoter and Activity organisers at all times; and (e) wear all safety and other equipment required. The Promoter and Activity organisers, in their absolute discretion, at all times reserve the right to: (a) prevent any winner or their companion from participating in the Activity if, at any time, they reasonably believe that the winner or their companion poses a safety risk or for any other reason; and/or (b) cancel the Activity if the conditions are deemed dangerous.
      • 20. The Major Prize is subject to the Activity venue terms and conditions, including any applicable age restriction. The Promoter and Activity organisers hereby expressly reserve the right to eject the Major Prize winner (and/or companion) for any inappropriate behaviour, including but not limited to intoxication, whilst participating in any element of the Major Prize.


        MINOR PRIZES

      • 21. The next four (4) valid entries drawn will each win a $250 Australian Geographic voucher.
      • 22. Any ancillary costs associated with redeeming a voucher are not included. Any unused balance of a voucher will not be awarded as cash. Redemption of a voucher is subject to any terms and conditions of the issuer including those specified on the voucher.
      • GENERAL
      • 23. The prizes must be taken as offered. Prizes, or any unused portion of a prize, are not transferable or exchangeable and cannot be redeemed as cash.
      • 24. Prizes are not valid in conjunction with any other offer. Prizes are valued in Australian dollars. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any variation in the prize value. Prize winners are advised that tax implications may arise from their prize winnings and they should seek independent financial advice prior to acceptance of their prize.
      • 25. If a winner of a prize is under the age of 18 years, the prize will be awarded to the winner’s parent or legal guardian on behalf of the winner. It is the responsibility of the winner’s parent/legal guardian to prove their parental status/legal guardianship at the time of winner notification. In the event that for any reason whatsoever a person mistakenly represents themselves to be a winners parent and/or legal guardian, then that person will be liable for all costs associated with relocating and/or re-awarding the prize (including but not limited to any administrative fees incurred by the Promoter). Where relevant, the Promoter is only responsible for ensuring that the prize is awarded to a person who is either a parent or legal guardian of the winner. The Promoter is not responsible for determining any other delivery details or taking direction that relates to any ongoing family law negotiations and/or determinations. These are the responsibility of the winner and their respective parent and/or legal guardian.
      • 26. Prizes are subject to the standard terms and conditions of individual prize and service providers.
      • 27. In the event that for any reason whatsoever a winner does not take a prize (or part of a prize), then the prize (or part of the prize) will be forfeited by the winner and cash will not be awarded in lieu of the prize.
      • 28. In the event that a prize (or part of a prize) is unavailable, the Promoter reserves the right to substitute the prize (or that part of the prize) in its discretion with an alternative prize to equal recommended retail value and/or specification, subject to any written directions from the various lottery departments.
      • 29. In the event of unforeseen circumstances, war, terrorism, state of emergency or disaster (including but not limited to natural disaster) the Promoter reserves the right to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the promotion, subject to any written directions from a relevant regulatory authority.
      • 30. Total prize pool value is up to AUえーゆー$8,500.
      • 31. If an entry is selected as a winning entry, validation of an entrant’s circumstances/ the validity of their entry will be undertaken by the Promoter. Method of validation (without limitation) will be determined by the Promoter in its complete discretion. If the entry is deemed to be a winner, the winner will be notified as per the Terms and Conditions herein. In the event that the Promoter requests the entrant to sign any legal documents relating to the verification of their circumstance, the legal documents will take the form determined by the Promoter. It is a condition of accepting a prize the winner sign any such legal documentation.
      • 32. If necessary, an unclaimed prize draw will be held on 24 April 2013 at the same time and place as the original draw in order to distribute any prize which remains unclaimed. Any winner from this draw will be notified by telephone and in writing within two (2) business days of the draw and their name will be published in The Australian on 1 May 2013.
      • 33. Nothing in these Terms and Conditions limits, excludes or modifies or purports to limit, exclude or modify the statutory consumer guarantees as provided under the Competition and Consumer Act, as well as any other implied warranties under the ASIC Act or similar consumer protection laws in the State and Territories of Australia (“Non-Excludable Guarantees”). Except for any liability that cannot by law be excluded, including the Non-Excludable Guarantees, the Promoter (including its respective officers, employees and agents) excludes all liability (including negligence), for any personal injury; or any loss or damage (including loss of opportunity); whether direct, indirect, special or consequential, arising in any way out of the promotion.
      • 34. Except for any liability that cannot by law be excluded, including the Non-Excludable Guarantees, the Promoter (including its respective officers, employees and agents) is not responsible for and excludes all liability (including negligence), for any personal injury; or any loss or damage (including loss of opportunity); whether direct, indirect, special or consequential, arising in any way out of: (a) any technical difficulties or equipment malfunction (whether or not under the Promoter’s control); (b) any theft, unauthorised access or third party interference; (c) any entry or prize claim that is late, lost, altered, damaged or misdirected (whether or not after their receipt by the Promoter) due to any reason beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter; (d) any variation in prize value to that stated in these Terms and Conditions; (e) any tax liability incurred by a winner or entrant; or (f) participation in or taking of the prize.
      • 35. If this promotion is interfered with in any way or is not capable of being conducted as reasonably anticipated due to any reason beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter, including but not limited to technical difficulties, unauthorised intervention or fraud, the Promoter reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to the fullest extent permitted by law: (a) to disqualify any entrant; or (b) subject to any written directions from a regulatory authority, to modify, suspend, terminate or cancel the promotion, as appropriate.
      • 36. Entrants consent to the Promoter, PNG Tourism (Papua New Guinea Tourism Promotion Authority (P.O. Box 1291, Port Moresby Papua New Guinea) and BLT (QLD) Pty Ltd t/a PNG Holidays (321 Sheridan Street, Cairns QLD (ABN 93 010 687 733) using their name, likeness, image and/or voice in the event they are a winner (including photograph, film and/or recording of the same) in any media for an unlimited period without remuneration for the purpose of promoting this promotion (including any outcome), and promoting any products manufactured, distributed and/or supplied by the Promoter.
      • 37. The Promoter, PNG Tourism and PNG Holidays collect personal information in order to conduct the promotion and may, for this purpose, disclose such information to third parties, including but not limited to agents, contractors, service providers, prize suppliers and, as required, to Australian regulatory authorities. Entry is conditional on providing this information. The Promoter, PNG Tourism and PNG Holidays may, for an indefinite period, unless otherwise advised, use the information for promotional, marketing, publicity, research and profiling purposes, including sending electronic messages or telephoning the entrant. Entrants should direct any request to opt out, access, update or correct information to the Promoter, PNG Tourism and PNG Holidays. All entries become the property of the Promoter.
      • 38. By entering this promotion, the entrant consents to receipt of any email regarding the promotion, and other emails which inform the entrant of the Promoter’s, PNG Tourism’s and PNG Holidays’ publications, products, services and events and to promote third party goods and services they may be interested in.
