Biography

Vladimir Chirkin was born on 12 October 1955 in the city of Khasavyurt, the Daghestan ASSR (now — the Republic of Daghestan). He graduated from the Alma-Ata Higher Combined-Arms Command School (1978), the Military Academy named after M.V. Frunze (1988) and the Military Academy of the General Staff of the RF Armed Forces (2000).

He served in the Group of Soviet Troops in Germany, Transbaikalian, Moscow, Transcaucasian, Far Eastern, North Caucasian and Siberian Military Districts in various command posts: the commander of reconnaissance platoon of tank regiment, reconnaissance company, battalion. He served as the chief of headquarters / deputy commander of motorised rifle regiment, the commander of motorised rifle regiment, the chief of headquarters / deputy commander of motorised rifle division, the commander of division, the Chief of Staff of Army / Deputy Commander of Army, the Commander of Army.

From 2007 — the Deputy Commander of the Moscow Military District.
