Presidential Posters: 2 New 'Olympus Has Fallen' Banners

Earlier this week, we got a look at a new banner for next month's Olympus Has Fallen featuring a very tense-looking Gerard Butler over an image of the White House aflame and the tagline, "When our flag falls, our nation will rise."  Now, both Aaron Eckhart and Morgan Freeman have banners of their own, each actor getting his gravitas on atop the same image.

One of two "White House Under Siege" movies arriving in theaters between now and the end of June.  Because it arrives first an also features Freeman acting as a president, Olympus Has Fallen is the Deep Impact to White House Down's Armageddon.

Unlike Deep Impact, though, this movie doesn't have Freeman playing a standard president, but is instead Speaker of the House Trumbull, who is forced into the role of acting president when a North Korean attack on the White House results in President Asher, played by Eckhart, being taken hostage.  With the symbolic heart of federal power lost, only one man can save the day: disgraced Secret Service agent Mike Banning, played by Gerard Butler.  Facing impossible odds, Banning must become a one-man wrecking machine, taking down the hostage-taking enemies of the state Die Hard-style.

During IAR Managing Editor Jami Philbrick's recent visit to the Olympus Has Fallen mixing stage, director Antoine Fuqua commented on his cast, saying, "It’s interesting because in a movie like this we try to make it as appealing to a broad audience, as exciting, and as fun as we can. It should be exciting. We blow shit up and all kinds of good stuff. What we managed to do was get great actors, which helps to make it feel authentic and grounded. You know, Morgan Freeman, Melissa Leo, Aaron Eckhart and all those guys. So it has some substance and a sense of reality to it. So we really worked hard on that.”

The two banners below debuted today at Yahoo! Movies.  If you want to see Butler's banner, though, click right here.

For a whole lot more insight on Olympus Has Fallen, check out Jami's full report from the film's mixing stage, where he spoke with the director and previewed several action-packed sequences from the film.

In addition to Butler, Eckhart, and Freeman, the film's cast includes Ashley Judd as the First Lady, Angela Bassett as the head of the Secret Service, Melissa Leo as Secretary of State, and Robert Forster as a four-star general, along with Cole Hauser and Dylan McDermott as two of Banning's fellow Secret Service agents.

Olympus Has Fallen puts a hurting on the White House this March 22nd.
