The University Arch is the traditional entrance to the University of Georgia (UGA) campus. It serves as a divider between North campus and downtown Athens. The Arch’s three columns symbolize “Wisdom, Justice, and Moderation.”
This “Safe & Secure” guide for the campus community has been produced by the police department, the legal affairs office, the student affairs division, and the university’s public affairs office. It includes policies and statistics as required by law, including the University’s Policy on Alcohol and Other Drugs. The University of Georgia has published complete on-campus crime statistics since 1969.
Additionally, this site relates crimes as reported by the Athens-Clarke County Police at off-campus locations occupied or used primarily by students, and provides information about the number of reports of alcohol, drug and weapons violations referred to the UGA Student Judiciary during 2007, 2008 and 2009.
