Opening in theaters on February 15th is the new 3D computer animated family film Escape from Planet Earth, which was directed by storyboard artist Cal Brunker (Despicable Me). The movie features an amazing cast of voice actors including Rob Corddry (Warm Bodies), Sarah Jessica Parker (Sex and the City: The Movie), Brendan Fraser (Stand Off), Jessica Alba (Sin City), Jonathan Morgan Heit (Date Night), William Shatner (Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan), Craig Robinson (Hot Tub Time Machine), Sofia Vergara (The Three Stooges), Jane Lynch (Wreck-It Ralph), George Lopez (Rio), and Ricky Gervais (TV's An Idiot Abroad).

IAR's Managing Editor Jami Philbrick recently had the immense pleasure of sitting down with legendary film and television actor William Shatner for an extensive interview to talk about his work on Escape from Planet Earth, as well as his unique musical career, and the possibility of a T.J. Hooker movie based on his classic TV series of the same name. The iconic performer discussed his latest film, why he wanted to be a part of the production, poking fun at his Sci-Fi legacy, similarities between his name and his character's name, why he doesn't like watching his own work but might like seeing this film, plans to take his grandkids to see the movie, 3D, live-action acting vs. animation work, his musical career, working with Ben Folds, his upcoming album, why he likes playing with music and words, and the truth behind the rumors of a T.J. Hooker movie.

The reinvigorated Star Trek movie franchise must be feeling a little bit like an unloved stepchild since J.J. Abrams decided to abandon Gene Roddenberry's nerdier baby in favor of the more athletic and popular Star Wars franchise.

Just to remind everyone who has been busy fancasting young Han Solo, we've got five new images from this summer's Star Trek Into Darkness, along with two magazine cover showcasing the high cheekbones of Captain Kirk, Mr. Spock, and the mysterious John Harrison.

Between his frequent updates on X-Men: Days of Future Past and Warner Bros. ramping up promotion on his new movie Jack the Giant Slayer, a substantial amount of the news around these parts lately has concerned director Bryan Singer.  A new batch of widescreen stills from next month's Jack the Giant Slayer, for example, show off the film's medieval fantasy setting, as well as the big, digital giants.

With all the X-Men: Days of Future Past news and discussion going on lately, it's easy to forget that Bryan Singer actually has a huge movie arriving in theaters just over a month from now.  Two new domestic posters are here to remind audiences that Jack the Giant Slayer is right around the corner, and while it may not feature a single mutant, it does have a whole a lot of big digital giants.

The Super Bowl, a showcase for football and unbridled advertising of every stripe, will doubtless contain many a TV spot for some the biggest movies arriving over the next six months.  One of the showcased films will be March's Oz the Great and Powerful.  Disney has released a tiny, ten second glimpse at the TV spot we'll see during the game between the 49ers and the Ravens on February 3rd.

And because we feel terrible about posting a commercial for a commercial, dear Rogues, we also have a brand new character poster for Oz the Great and Powerful, this one featuring the endlessly lovely Mila Kunis in a giant red hat.  Fair enough, right?
