Congress Jewelers opens new boutique, Sealife by Congress
SANIBEL – As the holiday season begins, Congress Jewelers makes shopping even easier for customers as it opens a second boutique location.
The boutique, Sealife by Congress, focuses on the delicate piece of jewelry that started it all – sand dollars, and other pieces inspired by the sealife of Sanibel Island.
“My father launched Congress Jewelers in 1982 by selling golden sand dollars molded from those he found on the beach,” Congress proprietor Scot Congress said. “We continue to design and manufacture the entire Sealife line on the island – found on Sanibel, created on Sanibel. Giving the line its own venue is an exciting concept.”
The boutique’s whimsical collection features the sand dollars, shells, dolphins, starfish and other marine creatures. Of course, no Congress store would be complete with out the Sanibel Sandals in inventory, available in sterling silver and white or yellow 14k gold.
In addition to the whimsy of the new collection, Sealife by Congress features a magnificent wedding gown, embellished by more than 3,500 hand-polished shells. The dress, created by author and interior designer Melinda Graham, sits in the store to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the Sanibel Shell Fair.
While the dress may remind shoppers of wedding bells, Sealife provides more than the traditional wedding jewelry and promises a piece for every occasion.
Each piece is made with precision and extraordinary workmanship. The collection includes pieces ranging from $20 to $2,500, so every individual can afford to find a reminder of their Sanibel Island vacation.
Sealife by Congress is located at Periwinkle Place Shopping Center on Sanibel Island, next to Chico’s clothing store.
