Gaithersburg Police Release Composite Sketch Of Kidnapping Suspect

Police are asking for the public's help in identifying the suspect.

Gaithersburg police are asking for the public's help in identifying a possible suspect in Monday's attempted kidnapping in the 500 block of Midsummer Drive.

Police released a composite sketch of the suspect. He is described as a Hispanic male, with a medium complexion and muscular build, short black hair, between 6 feet and 6 feet 1 inch, and weighing 190 to 210 pounds. He has a goatee, brown eyes, a round face and sideburns that go to the middle of his ears.

Police said the suspect's vehicle, a van, is described as a square style, similar to a delivery or painter van. It is possibly a Ford or Chevy model, white in color, with red trim along the top of the passenger side and rear.

The license plate is located to the right of the rear bumper and the vehicle has round brake lights and square blinkers, police said. The van has a passenger side sliding door and the wheels are solid black with no hubcaps. The front passenger side window is extremely tinted.

Anyone with information about this attempted kidnapping or the suspect is asked to contact the Gaithersburg Police Investigations Section at 301-258-6400. Those who wish to remain anonymous may call Crime Solvers of Montgomery County toll-free at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477) or the Gaithersburg Police Tip Line at 301-330-4471. Crimes Solvers will pay a cash reward of up to $10,000 for information that leads to an arrest and/or indictment for this felony crime.
