Making a Difference

A celebration of the achievements of our students, faculty, and staff in academics, research, service, and athletics.

We’d like to take a moment celebrate the extraordinary things accomplished by the Penn State community in 2013. These achievements are too vast to be mentioned in one place, but this video highlights just a few, from the College of Communications’ award-winning television news broadcast to record-breaking numbers for job fair attendance, and from victories in the sports arena to exceptional academic online opportunities. The generosity of Penn State students is always on display during THON, our annual dance marathon that raises money to fight pediatric cancer.

From advances in leukemia and new planetary discoveries to refining alternative energy sources such as biofuels and pioneering technologies in sustainable industry practices, they’ve made incredible discoveries and persevered in working to solve problems around the globe.

This weekend, thousands of Penn State students will realize their dream of earning a college diploma. These diplomas represent not only countless hours spent studying, but also the courage to step outside of comfort zones to learn more about the world and to venture out beyond the classroom to serve their communities.

These graduates have absorbed the wisdom and experience of our exceptional faculty and the rest of the Penn State community. They are prepared to succeed, to lead, and to do great things.

Congratulations, and good luck!
