Is Will Smith about to enter Tom Cruise territory? It certainly feels that way after reading this pretty bonkers New York interview with Will and his son, Jaden, conducted during a publicity tour for the pair’s upcoming sci-fi film, After Earth. The interview, while never directly touching on Smith’s alleged involvement with the Church of Scientology, does paint quite an interesting picture of one of the world’s biggest box office stars, who seems to be borderline obsessed with something he refers to as “The Patterns” and miles away from Fresh Prince territory.

Oh, girl fights… The phrase itself can conjure images of scantily clad models slapping at each other for sexually exploitive purposes, which is unfair and misleading. For instance, in Fast and Furious 6, Gina Carano and Michelle Rodriguez get to fight each other with insane ferocity that rivals any of the fight scenes that co-stars The Rock and Vin Diesel find themselves in. Pam Grier made her career in the 70s showing up in movies to beat people up. And let’s not forget the Kill Bill films, which are pretty much a collection of brutal battle scenes between women.

But in honor of prom season, we’ve decided to revisit some cinematic proms that were wayyyy more memorable than our own.

Star Trek is often thought of as being a science fiction franchise about brainy people who generally get along and find themselves involved in complex morality plays, and yeah, it is. However, Star Trek is also full of dark, mysterious, physically commanding and sexy bad guys (and girls).
The geniuses behind Star Trek Into Darkness mashed up clips from the sequel in a new music video set to the hit song “Beam Me Up” by Cazzette. The sequel, starring Chris Pine and Zachary Quinto, has the Internet buzzing in anticipation as it rolls out nationwide this weekend.
