When the Sky Falls: Watch the 'Skyfall' Title Sequence

The opening title sequence for Skyfall, the twenty-third cinematic adventure of James Bond, has arrived online to view free of charge and without those pesky titles and credits.

On the off chance that you're not one of the moviegoers who has already contributed to Skyfall's current $538 million global haul, then this title sequence is a little sampling of Sam Mendes' take on Ian Fleming's libidinous superspy, providing a pretty on the nose visual guide to the action movie's themes.  If you have seen Skyfall, then perhaps you're just looking to experience an echo of the Bond-ian emotions that you felt whilst viewing the film.  Or maybe you just love Adele's title song enough that the actual sequence is just visual icing on an aural cake.

Regardless, Daniel Kleinman is the designer of the title sequence, and he posted the four-minute video to Vimeo.  So sit back and enjoy what is probably the only four minutes of Skyfall that features no product placement.

To say that Skyfall has enjoyed a rapturous reception would be a bit of an understatement, as the sequel continues making massive amounts of money around the world while being hailed by many as the best film in the fifty year-old franchise.  A director could certainly do worse with his first foray into big blockbuster actioneering, and given his already eclectic filmography, it's hard not to wonder what Sam Mendes will direct next.

Whatever Mendes gets up to next, his screenwriter John Logan, who worked from previous drafts by frequent Bond scripters Neal Purvis and Robert Wade, is committed to direct the next two installments in the franchise, with Daniel Craig set to blast a Walther PPK in at least two more movies.
