Jaxxon

No, this isn't Bucky O'Hare, though we suppose readers can be forgiven for thinking so. Star Wars is home to its own red-suited, green-rabbit, blaster-wielding-space-adventurer. Jaxxon also beat Bucky to the scene by a number of years.

Jaxxon was one of the earliest additions to the fledgling Expanded Universe. He first appeared in Marvel's Star Wars #8. The story, heavily influenced by the classic Kurosawa film The Seven Samurai, saw Han Solo gather a posse of smugglers and mercenaries to defend a tiny village. Jaxxon's skill with a blaster in this battle was rivaled only by his talent for kicking fools in the face.

Jaxxon reappeared several times in these early chapters of the Star Wars comic. He formed a band of like-minded adventurers called the Star-Hoppers. In another of their adventures, one of the Star-Hoppers was mistaken for Luke Skywalker, forcing Jaxxon to clash with a gang of bounty hunters. Those hunters soon learned what a mistake it was to face off with Jaxxon when he was hopping mad.

Thanks to his goofy appearance and the fact that Marvel's Star Wars series is largely ignored by modern writers, Jaxxon has been out of the spotlight for decades. And yet, he sticks in our minds after all this time thanks to his quirky humor and unique looks.
